Ragenold (died 967) (French: Renaud; Latin: Reginoldus Rociensis; also cited
asReginold, Ragenald or Rainold), Count of Roucy, was aVikingchieftain who
participated in expeditions toFranceand settled in the kingdom of
KingLothair,1building a fortress atRoucybetween 947 and 953. He married
Alberada, daughter ofGerberga of SaxonyandGilbert of Lotharingia, with whom he
had four children. Flodoardoof Reims mentions him in his chronicles,2after the
triumph of ArchbishopArtoldas "Ragenaldus comes et Dodo frater ipsius". He
supported King Lothair in his war ofAquitainein 955. He died on 10 May 967 and
was buried in theBasilica of Saint-Remi.3​
