- LifeSketch: From Wikipedia - Titus Flavius T. f. T. n. Sabinus (d. December 20, AD 69) was a Roman politician and soldier. A native of Reate, he was the elder son of Titus Flavius Sabinus and Vespasia Polla, and brother of the Emperor Vespasian. Career Sabinus is first mentioned in the reign of Claudius, in AD 45, when he served as a legate under Aulus Plautius in Britain, along with his brother, Vespasian.[1] He afterwards governed Moesia for seven years. Sabinus was consul suffectus with Gnaeus Hosidius Geta in AD 47,[i][2] and was praefectus urbi for the last eleven years of Nero's reign. Upon the ascension of Galba in the year 68, he was replaced as urban prefect by Aulus Ducenius Geminus.[3] However, with the death of Galba, and ascension of Otho in January of 69, Sabinus was reinstated.[4] Sabinus may have been part of the Pisonian conspiracy against Nero, but if so he was never arrested.[5] Sabinus was an important supporter of his brother; when Vespasian found himself in financial difficulties while governor of Africa, Sabinus lent him the money to continue, and while Vespasian was governor of Judaea Sabinus was a vital source of information on events in Rome. After the death of Otho, Sabinus directed the urban cohorts to swear allegiance to Vitellius, evidently an attempt to preclude further bloodshed. At the same time, the consul Titus Flavius Sabinus, probably Sabinus' nephew, directed his troops in northern Italy to submit to the generals of Vitellius. Sabinus continued to retain the dignity of praefectus urbi under Vitellius.[6][7] Soon afterward, the legions in the East declared for Vespasian, who then advanced toward Rome, supported by Marcus Antonius Primus. After Vitellius' troops were defeated, the emperor, despairing of success, offered to surrender the empire into the hands of Sabinus, until his brother arrived. However, Vitellius' German soldiers refused this arrangement, and Sabinus was besieged in the Capitol, together with his family members, one of whom was his nephew Domitian. The capitol was burnt by Vitellius' forces, and in the confusion Sabinus' family made their escape, but Sabinus himself was captured and dragged before the emperor, who attempted in vain to save him from the fury of the soldiers. Sabinus was brutally murdered, and his remains thrown to a place where the corpses of malefactors were taken. When the generals of Vespasian obtained possession of the city, Sabinus was interred with the honour of a censor's funeral.[8][9][10][11][12] Family Sabinus' wife is not clearly identified in any ancient sources. Some scholars of early Christianity have asserted that she was Plautia or Plautilla, the daughter of Aulus Plautius and Pomponia Graecina, possibly an early Christian convert, and that the Plautilla who traditionally lent her veil to Saint Paul was Sabinus' daughter.[13] An alternative identification of Sabinus' wife has been proposed by Christian Settipani, who suggests that she was a sister of Marcus Arrecinus Clemens.[14] An inscription attests to a daughter for Sabinus: Flavia Sabina, who was the wife of Lucius Caesennius Paetus consul in 61.[15] Gavin Townend has identified two sons for Sabinus: Titus Flavius Sabinus and Gnaeus Arulenus Caelius Sabinus, both suffect consuls in the year 69,[16] a thesis that has come to be accepted by other scholars.[17] Character Tacitus describes Sabinus as being fair-minded and honest, though prone to be overly gregarious. His failure to hold the well-fortified capitol during the final days of the civil war is attributed to his moderation, lack of enterprise and reluctance to take Roman lives.[18] Footnotes Older authorities, such as the Dictionary of Greek and Roman Biography and Mythology and Attilio Degrassi, state that he held the fasces in 52. However, Giuseppe Camodeca has shown in his studies of wax tablets conserved at the Ufficio Scavi di Pompei that Sabinus was actually consul for July and August of AD 47.

- LifeSketch: Reputed to be a descendent of Numa Pompilius, a legendary Roman king from 753–673 BC that succeeded the legendary king Romulus. Born Titus Pomponius in Rome c. November 110 BC, Atticus descended from a family of equestrian rank and was the son of Titus Pomponius and Caecilia. He had a sister named Pomponia. Growing up, he studied and developed close friendships with Cicero, Lucius Manlius Torquatus, and Gaius Marius the Younger. He is said to have been an excellent student, and in 85 BC, Atticus moved to Athens to further his education, particularly in philosophy. His love of Athens inspired his self-appointed nickname "Atticus", or "Man of Attica", which is mentioned in the fifth book of Cicero's De Finibus (section 4).[2] During his visit to Athens, Julius Caesar was Atticus's guest.

\-Claudia MARCELLA Major
- Father: Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa of Arpino
- Mother: Pomponia Caecilia Attica of Rome
- Birth: 36 BC, Roma, Roman Republic
- Fact: She was the first wife of the Emperor Tiberius, betrothed by Augustus and her father before her 1st birthday
- LifeSketch: Vipsania Agrippina (/ˌæɡrəˈpaɪnə, -ˈpiː-/; 36 BC – 20 AD) was the first wife of the Emperor Tiberius. She was the daughter of Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa and Pomponia Caecilia Attica, thus a granddaughter of Titus Pomponius Atticus,[1] the best friend of Cicero. Biography She was betrothed by Augustus and her father to Tiberius, the stepson of Augustus, before her first birthday. They were married around 19 BC.[2] Their son Drusus Julius Caesar was born in 14 BC. Despite Vipsania and Tiberius enjoying a happy marriage, Augustus ordered the two to divorce after the death of Vipsania's father, who was married to Augustus's daughter Julia the Elder.[3] Even though Tiberius wished to remain with Vipsania and held disdain for Julia for her purported unfaithfulness, Augustus engaged him to Julia in order to link Tiberius's growing power to the Julian family.[4] At the time of their divorce, Vipsania was pregnant with a second child, who did not survive.[3] Tiberius divorced Vipsania against his will in 11 BC (non sine magno angore animi ["not without great mental anguish"], according to Suetonius) and never ceased to rue his action. On one occasion Tiberius caught sight of Vipsania and followed her with an intent and tearful gaze.[3] Precautions were taken to avoid further embarrassing meetings with her. In 11 BC she married Gaius Asinius Gallus Saloninus,[5] a Senator and son of the famous orator Gaius Asinius Pollio. They had at least five sons. Vipsania Agrippina died in AD 20, a few days after the ovation of her son Drusus,[6] which took place on 28 May. Tiberius hated Gallus, not least because Gallus claimed that Drusus was his own son. In 30, at Tiberius' instigation, the Senate was to declare Gallus a public enemy.[7] He died in prison in 33, of starvation. Issue Vipsania and Gallus' known sons were: Gaius Asinius Pollio - Consul in 23; exiled as an accuser of a conspiracy and later was put to death on orders from Empress Valeria Messalina. Marcus Asinius Agrippa - Consul in 25 and died in the end of 26. Tacitus describes him as "not unworthy of his ancestors".[8] His son Marcus Asinius Marcellus was Consul in 54, at the time when the Emperor Claudius died.[9] Asinius Saloninus or (Gnaeus Asinius Saloninus) (sometimes wrongly called Salonius), died in 22. Tacitus describes him as an ‘eminent’ person. Saloninus was intended to marry one of the granddaughters of Emperor Tiberius.[10] Servius Asinius Celer. He was consul suffectus in 38. From Emperor Caligula he purchased a fish at an enormous price.[11] He is mentioned in the satire, by Seneca, The Pumpkinification of Claudius, where he is listed among the many people killed by that emperor; his death probably occurred sometime before mid-47. Asinius Celer seems to have had a daughter by the name of Asinia Agrippina, though her existence is obscure. Asinius Gallus or Lucius Asinius Gallus (sometimes wrongly called Gallo). In 46 he conspired against Claudius and was forced to go into exile. Cassius Dio describes him as being "very small and ugly".[12] Later rehabilitated, he became Consul in 62. Gnaeus Asinius. His existence is recorded by the townsfolk of Puteoli,[13] whose patron he was. Nothing else is known about him. He may have been identical with Asinius Saloninus or the foregoing Asinius Gallus. Since the Asinius Gallus seems to have been the Lucius Asinius Gallus who became a Consul in 60, by exclusion of parts the Gnaeus Asinius must be the Asinius Saloninus. A descendant of Vipsania and Gallus, Pomponia Graecina, was a distinguished lady married to Aulus Plautius.[14] Plautius was a general in the conquest of Britain, which he received as a military ovation. Nero murdered their son, reportedly because Agrippina the Younger, mother of Nero, was in love with him and encouraged him to bid for the throne. Another descendant or otherwise relative, Gaius Asinius Lepidus Praetextatus (210 – after 242), became a Consul in 242, being the son of Gaius Asinius Lepidus, Suffect Consul of Rome in 222 and wife (Vettia) (born 190 or 195). Tacitus states that Vipsania was the only one of Agrippa's children to die a natural death.[15] She was one of the leading women of her time, and between 21-23, her son Drusus honored her memory with statues, coins and inscriptions.

The Domus Carolingiæ Genealogia names (in order) "Flodulfum, Walchisum et Anschisum" as sons of "Arnulfum episcopum", specifying that Walchisus was father of "Wandregisilum confessorem Domini"[107]. The Vita S. Wandregisili records that “Walchisus” was “consobrinus…Pippini…Principis Francorum”[108]. Monlezun suggests that Walacho and Walchisus were the same person. The primary source which confirms that this is correct has not yet been identified. In any case, the chronology appears to be too extended, particularly in light of the death of his supposed son-in-law Eudes Duke of Aquitaine, for Walacho to have been the son of Arnoul. Until further information comes to light, this connection should be viewed with caution.] m ---. The name of Walacho/Walchisus’s wife is not known. Walacho/Walchisus & his wife had [two] children: a) WANDREGISEL [Wandrille] (-21 Apr 665). The Vita S. Wandregisili names “Walchisus…consobrinus…Pippini…Principis Francorum” as father of “Wandregisilus cognomento Wando”[109]. The Gesta Abbatum Fontanellensium names "Wandregisilus" as the first abbot of Fontanelle and in a later passage specifies that he was son of "Walchisus…patruus Pippini ducis Francorum filii Anchisi"[110]. The Vita Ansberti names "princeps Pipinus Ansegisili filius" as "consobrinus…beati patris Wandragisili"[111]. The Annales Xantenses record the death in 665 of "Sanctus Wandregisilus"[112]. The Vita S. Wandregisili records the death “menso quarto, die primo et vicesimo…annus…665” aged 96 of “Beatus Wandregisilus”[113], although his age must be considerably exaggerated if his parentage is correctly shown here. b) [WALTRUDE . The charter of Charles II "le Chauve" King of the West Franks dated 30 Jan 845 (probably spurious, as explained in the document AQUITAINE DUKES) names "Valtruda, Valchigisi ducis de nostra progenie filia" as wife of "Eudo Aquitanie dux"[114]. m EUDES Duke of Aquitaine, son of [BOGGIS Duke of Aquitaine & his wife Oda ---] (-[735]).]

- LifeSketch: Wikipedia - Waldrada (also Vuldetrada) (531–572), wife (firstly) of Theudebald, King of Austrasia (ruled 548–555), reputed mistress (secondly) of Chlothar I, King of the Franks (ruled until 561), was the daughter of Wacho, King of the Lombards (ruled ca. 510–539) and his second wife called Austrigusa or Ostrogotha, a Gepid. The Origo Gentis Langobardorum names "Wisigarda…secundæ Walderada" as the two daughters of Wacho and his second wife, specifying that Waldrada married "Scusuald regis Francorum" and later "Garipald".[1] The Historia Langobardorum names "Waldrada" as Wacho's second daughter by his second wife, specifying that she married "Chusubald rex Francorum".[2] Paulus Diaconus names "Wisigarda…[et] secunda Walderada" as the two daughters of King Wacho & his second wife, specifying that Walderada married "Cusupald alio regi Francorum" and later "Garipald".[3] Gregory of Tours names Vuldetrada as the wife of King Theodebald.[4] Herimannus names "Wanderadam" wife of "Theodpaldus rex Francorum" when recording her second marriage to "Lotharius rex patris eius Theodeberti patruus".[5] According to Gregory of Tours, King Clotaire "began to have intercourse" with the widow of King Theodebald, before "the bishops complained and he handed her over to Garivald Duke of Bavaria",[6] which apparently implies that King Clotaire did not marry Waldrada.

- Birth: 535, Pannonia

- LifeSketch: Wikipedia Walthari (also Waltheri, Latin: Waltharius)[1] son of Wacho from his third wife Silinga, was a king of the Lombards from 539 to 546. He was an infant king, and the rule was administered by Audoin. Audoin probably killed Waltari before he reached manhood, in order to gain the throne for himself in ca. 546, and led the Lombards into Pannonia.[2] Procopius says he died of disease. He was the last of the Lething Dynasty.

- LifeSketch: Welf I (or Hwelf; died about 825) is the first documented ancestor of the Elder House of Welf. He is mentioned as a count (comes) in the Frankish lands of Bavaria. Life Welf originated from a distinguished dynasty of Franconian nobles. He is mentioned only once: on the occasion of the wedding of his daughter Judith with Emperor Louis the Pious in 819 at Aachen. His son Conrad later appeared as a dux (duke) in Alamannia and achieved a powerful position in the Upper Swabian estates he possibly had inherited from his mother Hedwig (Heilwig). His family became politically powerful when Louis the Pious chose his oldest daughter as his 2nd wife upon the death of his consort Ermengarde of Hesbaye. Though Welf himself never became publicly prominent, his family became interwoven with the Carolingian dynasty, as his oldest daughter Judith married Emperor Louis the Pious, and his youngest married the emperors son, Prince Louis the German. His grandchildren would rule both France (Charles the Bald) and Germany (Carloman of Bavaria, Louis the Younger and Charles the Fat). Marriage and issue Welf married Hedwig (Heilwig), daughter of the Saxon count Isambart; Hedwig later became abbess of Chelles. The couple had the following children: 1. Judith (c.797- 843), married to Emperor Louis the Pious, Roman Empress and Frankish Queen; 2. Conrad (c.800-864), Count of Auxerre, ancestor of the Welf kings of Burgundy; 3. Rudolph (c.802-866), Count of Ponthieu; 4. Hemma (c.803-876), Frankish Queen, married to King Louis the German, son of Emperor Louis the Pious. 5. possibly Mathilda d'Andech von Altdorf
