- Father: Joseph BEN JACOB of Nazareth
- Mother: Virgin MARY of Nazareth
- Birth: ABT 2, Nazareth, Northern, Israel
- Also known as: James the Just
- Occupation: Apostle, BET 44 AND 62
- Stoned to Death: on orders from High Priest Ananus II (son of Ananus ben Seth)
- Half brother of Jesus: (Date and Place unknown)
- LifeSketch: James the Just, or a variation of James, brother of the Lord (Latin: Iacomus from Hebrew: יעקב Ya'akov and Greek: Ἰάκωβος Iákōbos, can also be Anglicized as "Jacob"), was a brother of Jesus, according to the New Testament. He was an early leader of the Jerusalem Church of the Apostolic Age. He died as a martyr in AD 62 or 69. Catholics and Eastern Orthodox, as well as some Anglicans and Lutherans, teach that James, along with others named in the New Testament as "brothers"[note 1] of Jesus, were not the biological children of Mary, but were possibly cousins of Jesus,[4] or half-brothers from a previous marriage of Joseph (as related in the Gospel of James). Roman tradition holds that this James is to be identified with James, son of Alphaeus, and James the Less. It is agreed by most that he should not be confused with James, son of Zebedee Accordingly, the scribes and Pharisees ... threw down the just man... [and] began to stone him: for he was not killed by the fall; but he turned, and kneeled down, and said: "I beseech thee, Lord God our Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." And, while they were there, stoning him to death, one of the priests, the sons of Rechab, the son of Rechabim, to whom testimony is borne by Jeremiah the prophet, began to cry aloud, saying: "Cease, what do ye? The just man is praying for us." But one among them, one of the fullers, took the staff with which he was accustomed to wring out the garments he dyed, and hurled it at the head of the just man. And so he suffered martyrdom; and they buried him on the spot, and the pillar erected to his memory still remains, close by the temple. This man was a true witness to both Jews and Greeks that Jesus is the Christ. And shortly after Vespasian besieged Judaea, taking them captive. — Fragments from the Acts of the Church; Concerning the Martyrdom of James, the Brother of the Lord, from Book 5. __________________________________________________ A more compelling reason for believing that these are Mary’s children is that Joseph’s firstborn son from his first wife would have been the heir to the Davidic throne instead of Jesus. Son of Joseph and Mary, and half brother of Jesus. (Mark 6:3; Matt 13:55–56) He was an apostle (Gal 1:19; 1 Cor. 15:7). He was also known as James the Just. It was evidently this James who was an overseer of the Christian congregation at Jerusalem (Acts 12:17), and who wrote the Bible book bearing his name. (James 1:1) He may have been next to Jesus in age, being the first named of Mary’s four natural-born sons: James, and Joses, and Juda, and Simon (Mark 6:3; Matt 13:55). Paul implies in his letter to the Corinthians, written about the year 55 C.E., that James was married (1 Cor 9:5). https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/nt/mark/6.3?lang=eng&clang=eng#p3 Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? - Father: Joseph BEN JACOB of Nazareth
- Mother: Virgin MARY of Nazareth

- Also known as: Jude
- Half brother of Jesus: (Date and Place unknown)
- LifeSketch: Jude (alternatively Judas or Judah) is one of the brothers of Jesus (Greek: ἀδελφοί, romanized: adelphoi, lit. 'brethren') according to the New Testament. He is traditionally identified as the author of the Epistle of Jude, a short epistle which is reckoned among the seven general epistles of the New Testament—placed after Paul's epistles and before the Book of Revelation—and considered canonical by Christians. Catholics and Eastern Orthodox Christians believe this Jude is the same person as Jude the Apostle and that Jude was perhaps a cousin, but not literally a brother of Jesus, or perhaps St. Joseph’s son from a previous marriage. ___________________________________________________ A more compelling reason for believing that these are Mary’s children is that Joseph’s firstborn son from his first wife would have been the heir to the Davidic throne instead of Jesus. One of Jesus’ four half brothers (Matt 13:55; Mark 6:3). Evidently he was with his three brothers and his mother Mary early in Jesus’ ministry when, at Cana, Jesus performed a miracle, and he later traveled with Jesus and his disciples to Capernaum for a short stay (John 2:1-12). Well over a year later he apparently accompanied Mary and his brothers when they sought out Jesus (Matt 12:46). Nonetheless, in 32 CE Jesus’ brothers, including Judas, were “not exercising faith in him” (John 7:5). Shortly before dying, Jesus turned his believing mother over to the care of the apostle John, strongly suggesting that neither Judas nor his brothers had yet become disciples (John 19:26, 27). Perhaps it was the resurrection of Christ that helped convince Judas, though, because he was among the apostles and others who, between the time of Jesus’ ascension and the day of Pentecost 33 CE met together and persisted in prayer. (Acts 1:13-15) Logically, then, Judas would have been among the believers who first received holy spirit. Evidently Judas is the same as the Jude who, about 65 CE wrote the Bible book by that name. Hegesippus, a 2nd-century Christian writer, mentions descendants of Jude living in the reign of Domitian (81-96). Eusebius relates in his Historia Ecclesiae (Book III, ch. 19–20): "Of the family of the Lord there were still living the grandchildren of Jude, who is said to have been the Lord's brother according to the flesh. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domitian The bishop of Salamis, Epiphanius, wrote in his work The Panarion (AD 374-375) that Joseph became the father of James and his three brothers (Joses, Simeon, Judah) and two sisters (a Salome and a Mary) or (a Salome and an Anna) https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/nt/mark/6.3?lang=eng&clang=eng#p3 Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? - Also known as: Menehem the Essene
- Affiliation: Founder of the Samaritan Magi
- LifeSketch: Unlike these Messiahs, who expected their people's deliverance to be achieved through divine intervention, Menahem, the son of Judas the Galilean and grandson of Hezekiah, the leader of the Zealots, who had troubled Herod, was a warrior. When the war broke out he attacked Masada with his band, armed his followers with the weapons stored there, and proceeded to Jerusalem, where he captured the fortress Antonia, overpowering the troops of Agrippa II. Emboldened by his success, he behaved as a king, and claimed the leadership of all the troops. Thereby he aroused the enmity of Eleazar, another Zealot leader, and met death as a result of a conspiracy against him (ib. ii. 17, § 9). He is probably identical with the Menahem b. Hezekiah mentioned in Sanh. 98b, and called, with reference to Lam. i. 17, "the comforter" that should relieve" (comp. Hamburger, "R. B. T." Supplement, iii. 80). _________________________________________________ Menahem the Essene was a Jewish Tanna sage living during the era of the Zugot (lit. "pairs"). As such, he was "paired" with Hillel the Elder and served as Av Beit Din. The Mishnah, states that he "went forth", and as a result of that he was replaced by Shammai, who became from that point on the "Pair" mate of Hillel the Elder. The Babylonian Talmud cites a dispute among the sages over where Menahem "went forth" to. Abaye argues that "He went forth into evil courses [culture]", while Rava argues "He went fort to the King's [God's] service". The Talmud then quotes a baraita supporting Rava's opinion: "Thus it is also taught: Menahem went forth to the King's [God's] service, and there went forth with him eighty pairs of disciples dressed in silk". The Jerusalem Talmud cites an additional opinion, that Menahem agreed to be appointed to a ministration position in order to revoke Governmental predestinations against Torah studying. The "Menahem" recorded in the Mishnah is thought to be the same as the one recounted in Josephus' Antiquities of the Jews in which a story is told about a 'Menahem' of the Essenes' sect. According to Josephus, when Menahem saw young Herod the Great going to school he clapped him on the back and addressed him as king, announcing to him that he would reign successfully, despite Herod not being in the line of the royal dynasty. When Herod became king, he asked Menahem how long his reign would be. Initially, Menahem didn't reply, and Herod urged him "Would my reign last ten years?". Menahem replied that Herod would reign at least 30 years, but did not specify the exact number. Herod was pleased with Menahem's answer and dismissed him with a clasp of the hand and thenceforth bestowed special honors upon the Essenes.

She was abducted in Italy, during a visit to Misenum (modern Miseno), by the Cilician pirates with whom her father had so often clashed. Her freedom was obtained only on payment of a large ransom In 102 B.C.E., the Romans sent Marcus Antonius Orator to Cilicia with an army, opening a new theater of campaigns. The timing seems strange: in 102, Rome had a manpower shortage and Roman forces were still bogged down in Gaul, Sicily, and quite probably Africa. I argue that the beginning of Roman involvement in Cilicia was rooted in Roman reactions to the ongoing struggles in Sicily and a Roman perception (whether true or false) that the slave wars in Sicily were actually instigated by Easterners. Moreover, this perception continued to affect Rome's legislation in and control of Cilicia for years afterward.

- Also known as: Simon III Thassi Maccabaeus ben Mattathias
- Title Of Nobility: High Priest of Judaea
- Alternative Ancestry for Mary Magdalene: https://origin-science.org/genealogy-of-jesus-and-mary-magdalene/
- LifeSketch: Simon Thassi (שמעון התסי, Šiməōn HaṮasī') died 135 BCE was the second son of Mattathias and thus a member of the Hasmonean family. The name "Thassi" has a connotation of "the Wise", a title which can also mean "the Director", "the Guide", "the Man of Counsel", and "the Zealous". Simon took a prominent part in the Jewish revolt against the Seleucid Empire led by his brothers, Judas Maccabaeus and Jonathan Apphus. The successes of the Jews rendered it expedient for the Seleucid leaders in Syria to show them special favour. Therefore, Antiochus VI appointed Simon strategus, or military commander, of the coastal region stretching from the Ladder of Tyre to Egypt. As strategus, Simon conquered the cities of Beth-zur and Joppa, garrisoning them with Jewish troops and built the fortress of Adida. After the capture of Jonathan by the Seleucid general, Diodotus Tryphon, Simon was elected leader by the people, assembled at Jerusalem. He at once completed the fortification of the capital, and made Joppa secure (1 Maccabees 13:8-13:11; Josephus, Antiquities Bk 13 Ch 6:4). At Hadid he blocked the advance of Tryphon, who was attempting to enter the country and seize the throne of Syria. Since Tryphon could gain nothing by force, he demanded a ransom for Jonathan and the surrender of Jonathan's sons as hostages. Although Simon was fully aware that Tryphon would deceive him, both Josephus and 1 Maccabees state that he acceded to both demands so that the people might see that he had done everything possible for his brother. Jonathan was nevertheless treacherously assassinated, and the hostages were not returned. Simon thus became the sole leader of the people. As an opponent of Diodotus Tryphon, Simon decided to side with the Seleucid king, Demetrius II, to whom he sent a deputation requesting freedom from taxation for the country. The fact that his request was granted implied the recognition of the political independence of Judea. He became the first prince of the Hebrew Hasmonean Dynasty. He reigned from 142 to 135 BCE. The Hasmonean Dynasty was founded by a resolution, adopted in 141 BCE, at a large assembly "of the priests and the people and of the elders of the land, to the effect that Simon should be their leader and high priest forever, until there should arise a faithful prophet".(1 Macc. 14:41) Recognition of the new dynasty by the Roman Republic was accorded by the Senate about 139 BCE, when the delegation representing Simon was in Rome. Simon made the Jewish people semi-independent of the Seleucid Empire. In February 135 BCE, he was assassinated at the instigation of his son-in-law and rival Ptolemy, son of Abubus. Simon was followed by his third son, John Hyrcanus, whose two brothers, Mattathias and Judah, had been murdered, together with their father. -- Simon was followed by his third son, John Hyrcanus, whose two elder brothers, Mattathias and Judah, had been murdered, together with their father. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Thassi -- Simon the Thassi Maccabeus, Prince and High Priest of Judea https://www.geni.com/people/Simon-the-Thassi-Maccabeus-Prince-and-High-Priest-of-Judea-2/6000000012127005536 Simon The Thassi https://www.genealogieonline.nl/en/stamboom-homs/I6000000012127005536.php

Hezekiah ben Matthan, like his namesake, Hezekiah ben Gurion, firmly believed it was not part of God’s covenant that Jews be destined to be slaves and pawns under the tyrannical rule of King Herod. They fought for the freedom of the Jews. Their ideology was not for political revolution, it was bound by the higher calling to preserve the integrity of Jewish life as taught by the Torah.

He was of the Abiudite Davidian priestly Line which was legitimized in 37 BCE. Jacob was also in the Roman military and in 31 BCE was sent to Egypt by Herod with about 3000 troops to help Caesar ‘Octavian’ in the conquest of Antony and Cleopatra. It was here that Queen Cleopatra was “given to a foreign Prince” as recorded in history. That ‘Prince’ was Jacob ben Matthan, and she was given to him by her mother, Queen Cleopatra, just prior to her imminent suicide with Antony. The young Cleopatra was three weeks short of her 13th birthday at the time; and from this time was known as Cleopatra of Jerusalem. Queen Cleopatra also had a son with Julius Caesar, named Caesarian, who was 14 at the time of his capture. It was at this time that he was strangled at the order of Octavian Caesar, Julius Caesar’s nephew who inherited everything from Caesar, for “there was not enough room for two Caesars in the Roman Empire”. Jacob ben Matthan and Cleopatra of Jerusalem had a son in 29 BCE, named Prince Joseph ben Jacob. Jacob and Cleopatra also had twin boys, born in 26 BCE. Their names were Ptolas/Ptoles and Cleopas/Clopas and they play into the future history of those close to Jesus. [Ptolas/Ptoles = short for Ptolemy, the family name of Cleopatra from Egypt. Clopas/Cleopas = short for Cleopatra.] Ptolas will eventually marry a woman named Escha, a daughter of Joachim. Cleopas will marry Escha’s sister, Mary, known in the Bible as ‘the Other Mary’. In 23 BCE, intrigue and lust enter the reign of Herod the Great which profoundly affects history. Sort of a prehistoric Henry VIII actually. Herod falls in love with a beautiful princess, Mariamne, son of Simon IV Boethus. It plays out one of two ways: Either in order to justify his marriage into the family, Herod needs to elevate the status of the family in some way so he appoints Mariamne’s father, Simon IV Boethus, to the position of High Priest; or: because he is in love with Mariamne and wants to marry her, her father, Simon IV wants something in return. The two things he gets are: elevation to the status of High Priest of Jerusalem, and he is given in marriage a beautiful bride himself, none other than Cleopatra of Jerusalem, the daughter of Cleopatra of Egypt and Julius Caesar. Mariamne will be the fourth wife of Herod, and the second one named Mariamne (so she is often referred to as Mariamne II). Note that at this time, in 23 BCE, the current High Priest of Jerusalem is Yehoshua III. Yehoshua is the father of three daughters, the priestesses Jane/JoAnna, Elizabeth, and (H)anna. Jane/JoAnna has married Joachim; Elizabeth has married Zechariah; and(H)anna has married Heli, Miriam's father and Joshua's half brother. In order to facilitate Simon’s ascension to the position of High Priest of Jerusalem, Herod accuses Yehoshua III of sedition and has him executed in 23 BCE. Also note that at the time, Cleopatra of Jerusalem is already married to Jacob ben Matthan, and they have three children: Joseph, father of Jesus in the bible, and twins Ptoles and Cleopas. In order to facilitate this marriage to Simon IV Boethus, Herod also accuses Jacob ben Matthan of sedition and has him executed in 23 BCE as well. Interestingly, in 23 BCE, after their father’s death, Jacob’s children by Cleopatra (Joseph of the bible, Cleopas and Ptoles), as well as Yehoshua III’s youngest daughter (H)anna and her daughter Miriam, are all whisked away into hiding to Jacob’s brother’s estate in Gamala, Galilee, where they are cared for by Jacob’s brother, Hezekiah. Jacob has two brothers: Prince Hezekiah/Ezekias the Zealot, and Prince Judas of Gamala/Galilee. Both are noted in the bible; Hezekiah is named after Ezekiah, the first martyr of the zealots. Judas the Galilean will be known as the zealot who led the uprising in 6 CE against Roman taxes. https://www.rebejames.com/jacob-ben-matthan ___________________________________________________ Azor ben Eliakim 53 was the son of the Governor of Judea, Eliakim. - LifeSketch: http://www.biblesearchers.com/yahshua/davidian/dynasty2.shtml#LukeMaryLineage Her Davidian father, Prince Alexander III Helios, was executed by King Herod the Great in a series of persecutions or pogrom against the Davidians. It was Herod’s attempt to eliminate any rival to the throne of Judea. The death of Heli occurred, according to Davidian genealogist David Hughes, in the “Davidic Dynasty”, either in the years of 20 to 16 BCE or 17 to 13 BCE. Heli’s wife, Anne or Hannah, died a few years later and the orphaned young maiden was placed in the temple within the Order of the Temple-Virgins until she was eligible for marriage about the year of her bat Mitzvoth at the age of 12-13 years of age. This young maiden was of supreme interest to the priest elite. She was the granddaughter of the High Priest Yeshua III, who died apparently the year of 23 BCE, by execution, according to some scholars, for sedition against the throne of Herod. From all appearances, the Yehoshua the high priest never knew his granddaughter, Miriam, as she was born about three years later in the year of 20 to 19 BCE. Heli ben Matthat Luke 3:23-24 23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, 24 Which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Janna, which was the son of Joseph, Also known as: Prince Alexander III “Helios” source? https://origin-science.org/genealogy-of-jesus-and-mary-magdalene/ https://www.geni.com/people/Heli-ben-Matat/377488270840013774 Submitted by: darwinmaxbagley1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yehoshua (Jesus) III, the High Priest married his daughters as child brides to a Davidian and Maccabee prince, Alexander III Helios, a Davidian Nasi and Prince of Israel, Joachim, and a noted priest, Zacharias of the course of Abijah. Then Jesus III, the High Priest disappears from Jewish history. He hear later of a Ishmael ben Fabus who ruled as high priest in the year of 15-16 CE and later restored, no doubt quite aged in 56-62 CE, just prior to the final era of Temple of Herod in Jerusalem. A son of the famous Boethus family of seven sons, Mary’s great-great-great grandfather, arrived into Jewish history as one of the giants of the priests of the House of Zadok. The High Priest Hananeel (Ananelus) the Egyptian was privileged to sacrifice one of the nine red heifers before the temple of Herod was destroyed in 70 BCE. Miriam was the grand-daughter of the first High Priest (Yahusha III) to serve in the Second Temple - She was the daughter of Hannah (Anna) who was the daughter of the High Priest Yahusha III. Yahusha III was the first High Priest to serve in the second Temple coming out of Babylonian/Persian captivity. Yahusha III was a High Priest in the line of Zadok or a Zadokite High Priest who was to re-establish the House of Zadok in the office of High Priest. · Miriam was the daughter of Heli, a Davidic and Hasmonean Prince – Heli as he is called in the genealogy of Yahusha in the Bible was also known as Alexander Helios (Heli) III in history. HEli was the son of the future Maccabee Queen Alexandra II, who at this time was known by her Jewish name, Esther of Jerusalem. Heli, the shortened nickname for Helios (“The Sun”), was a descendant of both the Maccabee Kings of Judea and a prince of the House of David, for his father was Matthan ben Levi, a Davidian Prince who was first married in his youth to the vivacious royal princess, Elizabeth of Jerusalem. Heli was executed, in the world where many Davidian aspirants, as the “young lions of Judah”, were eliminated by the cruel and tyrannical King Herod the Great as they were a threat to his throne. - LifeSketch: Heli (Greek: Ἠλὶ, Hēlì, Eli) is an individual mentioned in the Gospel of Luke as the grandfather of Jesus. In Luke's genealogy of Jesus, Heli is listed as the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and the son of Matthat (Greek: μαθθατ). Jesus, when he began his ministry, was about thirty years of age, being the son of Joseph, of Heli, of Matthat, of Levi ... Heli is not mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, the only other canonical gospel to include a genealogy; that genealogy instead identifies "Jacob" as Joseph's putative father. Two genealogies of Jesus The New Testament provides two accounts of the genealogy of Jesus, one in the Gospel of Matthew and another in the Gospel of Luke. Matthew starts with Abraham, while Luke begins with Adam. The lists are identical between Abraham and David, but differ radically from that point. Matthew has twenty-seven generations from David to Joseph, whereas Luke has forty-two, with almost no overlap between the names on the two lists. Notably, the two accounts also disagree on who Joseph's father was: Matthew says he was Jacob, while Luke says he was Heli. Traditional Christian scholars have put forward various theories that seek to explain why the lineages are so different, such as that Matthew's account follows the lineage of Joseph, while Luke's follows the lineage of Mary. Some modern critical scholars state that both genealogies are inventions, intended to bring the Messianic claims into conformity with Jewish criteria. Another possibility is that since both Heli and Jacob have a similar name listed as their father (Matthan in Matthew, Matthat in Luke), a discrepancy that can easily be accounted for by error, that the names Heli and Jacob refer to the same person. Matthew relied heavily on fitting existing prophecy to the narrative; in the Old Testament, Jacob (the last of the biblical patriarchs) also had a son named Joseph. This explanation fits for Heli/Jacob himself, but not for the earlier genealogies. The curse on the Solomonic line This is what the LORD says: 'Record this man as if childless, a man who will not prosper in his lifetime, for none of his offspring will prosper, none will sit on the throne of David or rule anymore in Judah. — Jeremiah 22:30 If Matthew's genealogy is that of Mary, and Luke's of Joseph, then there is a problem with the curse on the Solomonic line, dating from the time of Jeconiah where Jeremiah pronounced that no descendant of Jeconiah would again sit on the throne of David or rule Judah. Although Israel had at least one Solomonic descendant, Zerubbabel, as governor under the Achaemenid Empire, he was neither crowned king nor related by blood to Jeconiah. This apparent problem is resolved by other passages, however, and depends on the fact that Jesus had no earthly father (the virgin birth) and, therefore, would not be related to Jeconiah through Joseph’s lineage (or bound by its blood curse). This solves the problem of the “curse of Jeconiah,” but creates a new problem of inheritance, since Jews would typically not be allowed to inherit from their mother. But, as if anticipated, Moses allowed such inheritance if the mother had no brothers and married within her tribe. This would mean that Mary’s husband would become the legal son of her father, a son of his tribe. In this way, Jesus was the legal offspring of David through his other son, Nathan, who was in the lineage of Mary. Joseph would also be recognized as a son of David through Nathan and not through Jeconiah. That is why Luke says that Joseph is the “son of Heli,” Mary’s father. This exception involved the case of Zelophehad, who had five daughters and no sons. Typically, they would not inherit when the Promised Land was divided up. They complained about this to Moses, who then asked God about it. God said that the five daughters would be allowed to inherit land and title just as if they were sons. This angered some, however in the tribe of Zelophehad who complained to Moses about losing their land if a daughter who inherited land married outside her tribe. Moses again asked God, who allowed that the woman who is qualified to inherit land must marry within her father’s tribe. Saint Joachim and Saint Anne The apocryphal Protoevangelium of James gives the story of Saint Joachim and Saint Anne as the parents of Mary. This is largely followed in Catholic, Orthodox, and Anglican tradition. Luke 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, Luke 3:24 Which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Janna, which was the son of Joseph, https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/nt/luke/3.23?lang=eng&clang=eng#p23

Some traditions narrated that 36 languages of the world could be traced back to Japheth.[12] According to that book, Japheth and his two brothers formed the three major races: Japheth is the father of the Japhetic race Shem is the father of the Semitic race Ham is the father of the Hamitic race William Shakespeare's play Henry IV, Part II contains a wry comment about people who claim to be related to royal families. Prince Hal notes of such people, ...they will be kin to us, or they will fetch it from Japhet. (II.ii 117-18) Genesis 10:5 was often interpreted to mean that the peoples of Europe were descended from Japheth. Clearly, then, any two Englishmen must have at least this one ancestor in common, and thus any individual could claim kinship with the king. Descendants Main article: Japhetic Geographic identifications of Flavius Josephus, c. 100 AD; Japheth's sons shown in red In the Bible, Japheth is ascribed seven sons: Gomer, Magog, Tiras, Javan, Meshech, Tubal, and Madai. According to Josephus (Antiquities of the Jews I.6): Japhet, the son of Noah, had seven sons: they inhabited so, that, beginning at the mountains Taurus and Amanus, they proceeded along Asia, as far as the river Tanais (Don), and along Europe to Cadiz; and settling themselves on the lands which they light upon, which none had inhabited before, they called the nations by their own names. Josephus subsequently detailed the nations supposed to have descended from the seven sons of Japheth. The "Book of Jasher", published in the 17th century, provides some new names for Japheth's grandchildren not found in the Bible or any other source, and provided a much more detailed genealogy (see Japhetic). Europeans In the seventh century, Isidore of Seville published his noted history, in which he traces the origins of most of the nations of Europe back to Japheth.[7] Scholars in almost every European nation continued to repeat and improve upon Saint Isidore's assertion of descent from Noah through Japheth into the nineteenth century.[4] Ivane Javakhishvili associated Japheth's sons with certain ancient tribes, called Tubals (Tabals, Greek: Tibarenoi) and Meshechs (Meshekhs/Mosokhs, Greek: Moschoi), who they claim represent non-Indo-European and non-Semitic, possibly "Proto-Iberian" tribes of Asia Minor of the 3rd-1st millennia BC.[8] In the Polish tradition of Sarmatism, the Sarmatians were said to be descended from Japheth, son of Noah, enabling the Polish nobility to imagine themselves able to trace their ancestry directly to Noah.[4] In Scotland, histories tracing the Scottish people to Japheth were published as late as George Chalmers' well-received Caledonia, published in 3 volumes from 1807 to 1824.[9] Japheth is often regarded as the youngest son of Noah,[citation needed] though some traditions regard him as the eldest. They are listed in the order "Shem, Ham, and Japheth" in Genesis 5:32, 9:18 and 10:1, but treated in the reverse order in the remainder of chapter 10. Genesis 10:21 refers to relative ages of Japheth and his brother Shem, but with sufficient ambiguity to have given rise to different translations. The verse is translated in the King James Version as follows, "Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born". However, the Revised Standard Version reads, "To Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, children were born." The differing interpretations depend on whether the Hebrew word ha-gadol ("the elder") is taken as grammatically referring to Japheth, or Shem. Genesis 5:32 states that Noah had three sons when he was five hundred years old. Genesis 11:10 records that Shem was one hundred years old when his son Arphaxad was born, two years after the Flood. If Noah was six hundred years old (Genesis 7:13), then Shem was ninety-eight years old at the Flood. Ham is further implied to be the middle son in Gen. 9:24 (which says Noah realized what his "younger son" had done to him.) BUILDER TO THE WEST OF MOUNT LUBAR. - LifeSketch: ANNAS (Aννας; Anan; Ananiah, Aνανōς, which is employed by Josephus): By: H. G. Enelow Son of Sethi, or Seth (Josephus, "Ant." xviii. 2, § 1), a Jewish high priest. He was appointed to the office by Quirinus, governor of Syria, to succeed Joazar. When in his thirty-seventh year, and after having held his position from the years 6-15, he was deposed by Valerius Gratus, procurator of Judea. Annas was the head of a family which produced five high priests during the Herodian period (Josephus, "Ant." xx. 9, § 1). These were Eleazar, Jonathan, Theophilus, Anan, and Matthias. His daughter was married to the high priest Joseph, who, under the surname of Caiaphas, held that office about ten years (27-37). Annas is the high priest who appears in the New Testament as holding this office along with Caiaphas, his son-in-law (Luke, iii. 2). In fact, one passage calls him plainly the high priest (Acts, iv. 6), while Caiaphas is merely a member of the hierarchic family. It is into Annas' hands that Jesus is delivered for his first hearing, ere being sent to Caiaphas (John, xviii. 13), though in another passage (John, xi. 49, 51) Caiaphas is styled the high priest of that year. From these citations it is obvious that though Caiaphas was the properly appointed high priest, Annas, being his father-in-law and a former incumbent of the office, undoubtedly exercised a great deal of the power attached to the position. After the removal of Caiaphas four more sons of Annas held the high-priesthood, and the last of them, another Annas, is said to have put to death James, known as "the brother of Jesus," and the first bishop of Jerusalem. The Anan family is referred to in the Talmud (Pes. 57a) as having influence, but using it against the interests of the people. Bibliography: Schürer, Gesch. d. Jüd. Volkes, 3d ed., ii. 217; Plummer, St. Luke, in International Critical Commentary, pp. 84, 515. ____________________________________________________ Annas, son of Seth (23/22 BC – death date unknown, probably around AD 40), was appointed by the Roman legate Quirinius as the first High Priest of the newly formed Roman province of Iudaea in AD 6; just after the Romans had deposed Archelaus, Ethnarch of Judaea, thereby putting Judaea directly under Roman rule. Annas officially served as High Priest for ten years (AD 6–15), when at the age of 36 he was deposed by the procurator Valerius Gratus. Yet while having been officially removed from office, he remained as one of the nation's most influential political and social individuals, aided greatly by the use of his five sons and his son-in-law Caiaphas as puppet High Priests. His death is unrecorded. His son Annas the Younger, also known as Ananus the son of Ananus, was assassinated in AD 66 for advocating peace with Rome. Annas appears in the Gospels and Passion plays as a high priest before whom Jesus is brought for judgment, prior to being brought before Pontius Pilate. According to John, Caiaphas was the son-in-law of the high priest Annas, who is widely identified with Ananus the son of Seth, mentioned by Josephus. Annas was deposed after the death of Augustus, but had five sons who served as high priest after him. The terms of Annas, Caiaphas, and the five brothers are: Ananus (or Annas) the son of Seth (6–15) Eleazar the son of Ananus (16–17) Caiaphas, properly called Joseph son of Caiaphas (18–36/37), who had married the daughter of Annas (John 18:13) Jonathan the son of Ananus (spring 37) Theophilus ben Ananus (37–41) Matthias ben Ananus (43) Ananus ben Ananus (63) The trial of Jesus According to the Gospel of John (the event is not mentioned in other accounts), Jesus was first brought before Annas, and after a brief questioning of him (John 18:19–23) was sent to the home of Caiaphas, where some members of the Sanhedrin had met, and where in Matthew's account the first trial of Jesus took place (Matthew 26:57–68). In the Book of Acts After Pentecost, Annas presided over the Sanhedrin before which the Apostles Peter and John were brought (Acts 4:6).

- Half brother of Jeus: (Date and Place unknown)
- LifeSketch: Simon is described in the New Testament as one of the brothers of Jesus (Greek: ἀδελφοὶ, romanized: adelphoi, lit. 'brothers').[1] In Matthew 13:55, people ask concerning Jesus, "Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?" while in Mark 6:3 they ask, "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?" The Catholic Church defined that "brothers of Jesus" are not biological children of Mary, because of the dogma of the perpetual virginity of Mary, by virtue of which it rejects the idea that Simon and any other than Jesus Christ God could be a biological son of Mary, suggesting that the so-called Desposyni were either sons of Joseph from a previous marriage (in other words, step-brothers) or else were cousins of Jesus. The Catholic Encyclopedia suggests that Simon may be the same person as Simeon of Jerusalem or Simon the Zealot. Protestant interpreters who deny the perpetual virginity of Mary usually take Simon to have been a half-brother of Jesus. According to the surviving fragments of the work Exposition of the Sayings of the Lord of the Apostolic Father Papias of Hierapolis, who lived c. 70–163 AD, Mary the wife of Cleophas or Alphaeus would be the mother of Simon, the brother of Jesus: Mary the wife of Cleophas or Alphaeus, who was the mother of James the bishop and apostle, and of Simon and Thaddeus, and of one Joseph...(Fragment X) James Tabor, in his controversial book The Jesus Dynasty, suggests that Simon was the son of Mary and Clophas. While Robert Eisenman suggests he was Simon Cephas (Simon the Rock), known in Greek as Peter (from petros = rock), who led the Jewish Christian community after the death of James in 62 CE. ____________________________________________________ A more compelling reason for believing that these are Mary’s children is that Joseph’s firstborn son from his first wife would have been the heir to the Davidic throne instead of Jesus. A younger half brother of Jesus (Matt 13:55; Mark 6:3). Though he was still an unbeliever prior to the Festival of Tabernacles in 32 CE (John 7:2-8), he may have become a disciple later. Jesus’ fleshly brothers were among the crowd of about 120 disciples in Jerusalem during the season of Pentecost 33 CE, although Simon is not specifically named as being present (Acts 1:14, 15). https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/nt/mark/6.3?lang=eng&clang=eng#p3 Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? - LifeSketch: Ramon Berenguer I (1023–1076), called the Old (Catalan: el Vell, French: le Vieux), was Count of Barcelona in 1035–1076. He promulgated the earliest versions of a written code of Catalan law, the Usages of Barcelona. Count of Barcelona Reign 1035–1076 Predecessor Berenguer Ramon I Successor Ramon Berenguer II and Berenguer Ramon II Born 1023 Died 26 May 1076 Buried Barcelona Cathedral Noble family House of Barcelona Spouse(s) Elisabeth of Narbonne Blanca of Narbonne Almodis de la Marche Father Berenguer Ramon I the Crooked Mother Sancha Sanchez Signature Signum-ramon-berenguer-I-barcelona.jpg Religion Roman Catholicism Born in 1024, he succeeded his father, Berenguer Ramon I the Crooked in 1035.[2] It was during his reign that the dominant position of Barcelona among the other Catalan counties became evident. Ramon Berenguer campaigned against the Moors, extending his dominions as far west as Barbastro and imposing heavy tributes (parias) on other Moorish cities.[2] Historians claim that those tributes helped create the first wave of prosperity in Catalan history. During his reign Catalan maritime power started to be felt in the western Mediterranean. Ramon Berenguer the Old was also the first count of Catalonia to acquire lands (the counties of Carcassonne and Razés) and influence north of the Pyrenees.[2] Another major achievement of his was beginning the codification of Catalan law in the written Usatges of Barcelona which was to become the first full compilation of feudal law in Western Europe. Legal codification was part of the count's efforts to forward and somehow control the process of feudalization which started during the reign of his weak father, Berenguer Ramon. Another major contributor was the Church acting through the institution of the Peace and Truce of God. This established a general truce among warring factions and lords in a given region for a given time. The earliest extant date for introducing the Truce of God in Western Europe is 1027 in Catalonia, during the reign of his father, Berenguer Ramon. While still married to his second wife Blanca, he became involved with the wife of the Count of Toulouse, Almodis de La Marche, countess of Limoges.[3] Both quickly married and were consequently excommunicated by Pope Victor II.[3][4] Ramon Berenguer I, together with his third wife Almodis, also founded the Romanesque cathedral of Barcelona, to replace the older basilica presumably destroyed by Al-Mansur. Their velvet and brass bound wooden coffins are still displayed in the Gothic cathedral which eventually replaced the cathedral that they founded. He was succeeded by his twin sons Ramon Berenguer II and Berenguer Ramon II. The primary source which confirms his parentage has not yet been identified. He succeeded his father in 1209 as RAYMOND BERENGER IV Comte de Provence et de Forcalquier. Under his testament dated 20 Jun 1238, he designated his fourth daughter as his heir. The testament of “R. Berengarius…comes et marchio Provincie et comes Forcalquerii”, dated 20 Jun 1238, names “Margaritam filiam nostrum…reginam Francie…Elionors filiam nostrum…reginam Anglie…Sanciam filiam nostram” and appoints “Beatricem filiam nostrum heredem generalem”. The Annales Sancti Victoris Massilienses record the death "1245 XIV Kal Sep" of "Raimundus Berengarius comes Provincie" at Aix. The Obituaire of Forcalquier St Mary records the death "XIV Kal Sep" of "Raymundus Berengarii…comes Provincie et Forcalquerii". The Thalamus de Montpellier records the death Aug 1244 of "R. Berenguier coms de Proensa" at Aix. ========== Wiki (4-2012): Ramon Berenguer IV (1195 - 19 August 1245), Count of Provence and Forcalquier, was the son of Alfonso II of Provence and Garsenda of Sabran, heiress of Forcalquier. After his father's death (1209), Ramon was imprisoned in the castle of Monzón, in Aragon until he was able to escape in 1219 and claim his inheritance. He was a powerful and energetic ruler who added Forcalquier to his domain. Giovanni Villani in his Nuova Cronica had this to say about Raymond: Count Raymond was a lord of gentle lineage, and kin to them of the house of Aragon, and to the family of the count of Toulouse, By inheritance Provence, this side of the Rhone, was his; a wise and courteous lord was he, and of noble state and virtuous, and in his time did honourable deeds, and to his court came all gentle persons of Provence and of France and of Catalonia, by reason of his courtesy and noble estate, and he made many Provençal coblas and canzoni of great worth.[1] On 5 June 1219, Ramon married Beatrice of Savoy, daughter of Thomas I of Savoy. She was a shrewd and politically astute woman, whose beauty was likened by Matthew Paris to that of a second Niobe. Along with two stillborn sons (1220 & 1225), Ramon and Beatrice had four daughters, all of whom married kings. Margaret of Provence (1221-1295), wife of Louis IX of France Eleanor of Provence (1223-1291), wife of Henry III of England Sanchia of Provence (1228-1261), wife of Richard of Cornwall, king of Germany Beatrice of Provence (1234-1267), wife of Charles I of Sicily Ramon Berenguer IV died in Aix-en-Provence. At least two planhs (Occitan funeral laments) of uncertain authorship (one possibly by Aimeric de Peguilhan and one falsely attributed to Rigaut de Berbezilh) were written in his honour. ========== geni.com Ramón Berenguer De Orléans, IV Birthdate: circa 1198 Death: August 19, 1245 Aix-en-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhone, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France Place of Burial: Aix-en-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhone, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France Immediate Family: Son of Alphonse II Bérenger, comte de Provence and Garsende de Sabran, comtesse de Forcalquier Husband of Béatrice de Savoie, comtesse consort de Provence Father of Marguerite de Provence, reine consort de France; Eleanor of Provence, Queen Consort of England; Sanchia of Provence, Queen of the Romans; Beatrice di Provenza, regina consorte di Sicilia; Raymond de Provence; and Henry de Bath « less Brother of Gersende de Provence, infante d'Aragon Occupation: Count of Provence, Conde de Provença, Count of Provence and Forcalquier, COUNT OF PROVENCE IV, COUNT OF BARCELONA V, France, last and most illustrious of the Royal Provençal Counts, Рамон Беренгер, граф на Прованс, of Provence,

He was the third son of Count Raymond Berengar IV of Barcelona and Queen Petronilla of Aragon. He received Cerdanya, including Carcassonne and Narbonne, on his father's death, but relinquished it to his younger brother Sancho in 1168. He never did govern his inherited territories. In 1173, his elder brother, Alfonso, granted him Provence. In 1176, he joined Sancho in conquering Nice from Genoa. He then ventured to war with the lords of Languedoc and the count of Toulouse. He was assassinated on 5 April 1181 by the men of Adhemar of Murviel near Montpellier. Provence passed to his brother Sancho.

- LifeSketch: Ramon Berenguer II the Towhead[1] or Cap de estopes[2] (1053 or 1054 – December 5, 1082) was Count of Barcelona from 1076 until his death. He was the son of Ramon Berenguer I, Count of Barcelona and Almodis de La Marche.[3] The Chronicle of San Juan de la Pena called him, "… exceeding brave and bold, kind, pleasant, pious, joyful, generous, and of an attractive appearance".[4] Because of the extremely thick hair he had on top of his head, he was known as Cap d'Estop." He succeeded his father, Ramon Berenguer I, Count of Barcelona, as co-ruler with his twin brother, Berenguer Ramon, in 1075.[5] The twins failed to agree and divided their possessions between them, against the will of their late father. Ramon Berenguer the Towhead, so called because of the thickness and colour of his hair, was killed while hunting in the woods in 1082.[6] His brother, who went on to become the sole ruler of Catalonia, was credited by popular opinion of having orchestrated this murder.[6] Berenguer Ramon II the Fratricide[6] was later succeeded by Ramon Berenguer's son, Ramon Berenguer III. Family and issue: Ramon Berenguer married Mahalta (or Maud) of Apulia, born ca. 1059, died 1111/1112, daughter of Duke Robert Guiscard and of Sikelgaita de Salerno.[7] Following his murder, she remarried to Aimery I of Narbonne, and was the mother of his son Aimery II. Ramon Berenguer and Mahalta's son, Ramon Berenguer III (before 1082–1131), was count of Barcelona and Provence. - LifeSketch: Born in 1053 or 1054, he succeeded his father Ramon Berenguer I the Old in 1075, co-ruling with his brother Ramon Berenguer II 'Towhead', who may have been his twin. They fell out and divided their possessions between them, against the will of their late father. Ramon Berenguer II was killed while hunting in the woods on 5 December 1082. Berenguer Ramon II, who became the sole ruler of Catalonia for the next four years, was credited by popular opinion with having orchestrated this murder. This suspicion and other divisions of loyalty led to a civil war. Various parties asserted ways to resolve this 'unjust and iniquitous murder', which led to a moderate compromise in 1086 in which Berenguer Ramon II would rule Catalonia with his brother's four-year-old son Ramon Berenguer III for eleven years until he came of age.[1] In the 1080s Berenguer Ramon's involvement in the internal strife in the Moorish taifa kingdoms brought him in conflict with El Cid. In the ensuing war the Count of Barcelona was twice taken prisoner. After his resignation in 1097 his life became more obscure. Still living under the accusations of his brother's assassination, the guilt of which may have been determined by trial by combat, which he lost, he went to Jerusalem, either on pilgrimage, as a penance, or as part of the First Crusade, and perished there between 1097 and 1099. Berenguer Ramon II was succeeded by his nephew Ramon Berenguer III, son of Ramon Berenguer II. From Wikipedia

- LifeSketch: Ramon Berenguer III the Great was the count of Barcelona, Girona, and Ausona from 1086 (jointly with Berenguer Ramon II and solely from 1097), Besalú from 1111, Cerdanya from 1117, and count of Provence in the Holy Roman Empire, from 1112, all until his death in Barcelona in 1131. As Ramon Berenguer I, he was Count of Provence from 1112 in right of his wife. «b»Biography«/b» Born on 11 November 1082 in Rodez, Viscounty of Rodez, County of Toulouse, Francia, he was the son of Ramon Berenguer II. He succeeded his father to co-rule with his uncle Berenguer Ramon II. He became the sole ruler in 1097, when Berenguer Ramon II was forced into exile. During his rule Catalan interests were extended on both sides of the Pyrenees. By marriage or vassalage he incorporated into his realm almost all of the Catalan counties (except Urgell and Peralada). He inherited the counties of Besalú (1111) and Cerdanya (1117) and in between married Douce, heiress of Provence (1112). His dominions then stretched as far east as Nice. In alliance with the Count of Urgell, Ramon Berenguer conquered Barbastro and Balaguer. He also established relations with the Italian maritime republics of Pisa and Genoa, and in 1114 and 1115 attacked with Pisa the then-Muslim islands of Majorca and Ibiza. They became his tributaries and many Christian slaves there were recovered and set free. Ramon Berenguer also raided mainland Muslim dependencies with Pisa's help, such as Valencia, Lleida and Tortosa. In 1116, Ramon traveled to Rome to petition Pope Paschal II for a crusade to liberate Tarragona. By 1118 he had captured and rebuilt Tarragona, which became the metropolitan seat of the church in Catalonia (before that, Catalans had depended ecclesiastically on the archbishopric of Narbonne). In 1127, Ramon Berenguer signed a commercial treaty with the Genoese. Toward the end of his life he became a Templar. He gave his five Catalan counties to his eldest son Ramon Berenguer IV and Provence to the younger son Berenguer Ramon. He died on 23 January/19 July 1131 and was buried in the Santa Maria de Ripoll monastery. «b»Marriages and descendants«/b» Ramon's first wife was María Rodríguez de Vivar, second daughter of El Cid (died ca. 1105). They had one child. 1.) María, married Bernat III, Count of Besalú (died 1111) His second wife Almonds produced no children. His third wife was Douce (Dolça de Gévaudaun), heiress of Provence (died ca. 1127). Their union produced at least seven children: 1.) Ramon Berenguer IV, Count of Barcelona (1113/1114-1162) married Petronilla of Aragon, daughter of Ramiro II, King of Aragón 2.) Berenguer Ramon I, Count of Provence (ca. 1115-1144) 3.) - Title Of Nobility: Précepteur de Sainte Radegonde, Conseiller du Roi Berthachar de Thuringe, Evêque de Verdun
- LifeSketch: LIFE Desideratus was a member of the aristocratic gallo-roman family of Syagrii, the son of Gundobaud of Burgundy, and the father of Saint Syagrius of Autun.[2] The name of Desideratus' wife is unknown; she is said to have been "a noble woman from Toulouse," possibly a daughter of Vandal King Gesalec. According to some sources they had four children:[2] Gondoald, Count of Meaux, Syagrius, Bishop of Autun, Didier, Duke of Toulouse, and Salvius, Bishop of Albi. Gregory of Tours relates that the Merovingian King, Theuderic I, "had done much harm to Desideratus,"[3] and had him tortured, removed from office, and forced to flee.[2] When he returned he found that the people had been impoverished. Desideratus solicited a loan from Theuderic's son and successor Theudebert I, promising repayment when business had been restored. Theudebert loaned Desideratus seven thousand gold pieces. When Desideratus went to repay the money, Theudebert refised saying "It is enough for me that, when you asked that I should make a loan, those who were poor and in dire distress were returned to prosperity."[3] DEATH Desideratus "was killed by Sirivald, for reasons of rivalry and revenge. Subsequently, Desideratus's son Syagrius organized a punitive expedition in 554 to assassinate Sirivald in a villa. After murdering a first person by mistake, they returned and fulfilled their mission.[4]

- LifeSketch: Udalrich came from the Alemannic GEROLD-UDALRICH clan and was the brother-in-law of Emperor CHARLES THE GREAT. It appeared in the sources for the first time in 778. Notker reports that Udalrich fell out of favor with KARL after Hildegard's death and lost all fiefs, but the king reversed his sentence out of consideration for his beloved, late wife. Bebo (Pepo), Gerold, Udalrich and Robert are attested as sons of Count Udalrich in a deed of donation from the year 803 to the Fulda monastery, i.e. they were brothers. http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands//SWABIAN%20NOBILITY.htm#_ftnref756 http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands//SWABIAN%20NOBILITY.htm#_Toc514513196

- LifeSketch: The people shown as ancestors of this person, such as Lancelot, High-King Arthur of Britain and King Arthur are not real people. Budic II, King of Brittany Not to be confused with his uncle and namesake, Budic was called by his title, Emyr Llydaw (Emperor of Brittany) by the Welsh. He apparently married the sister of High-King Arthur of Britain. The lady is usually assumed to have been Anna, but there are indications that Elaine (Elen) was his true wife. He is thus, probably, the original of King Nentres (a corrupt form of Emyr) who was mistakenly given the realm of Anna's husband, Garlot (Caer-Lot). He may also be connected with the literary King Ban of Benwick (sometimes Brittany). It was probably during his cousin's usurpation of the Breton throne that Budic fled to Britain, along with his father and the Breton fleet. They took refuge at the court of King Aircol Lawhir of Dyfed, where he met and married his second wife, Anowed, the sister of St. Teilo. The two settled in Britain and lived there for many years during which time Anowed gave birth to two sons. During her third pregnancy though, messengers arrived announcing that the Breton King (probably the childless Rivod) was dead and that his people desired Budic to be their King. So he returned in triumph to a kingdom that became known as Cornouaille Budic in his honour. It was during Budic's reign that, an old legend says, Breton armies first became invincible on horseback. During a visit of St. Teilo to Brittany, Budic, his brother-in-law, persuaded the saint to rid his lands of a terrible dragon that was terrorising the countryside. With much prayer, Teilo was able to subdue the beast and he tied it to a rock in the sea. Afraid that it would return without Teilo's protection, Budic created his brother-in-law the Bishop of Dol. Teilo entered the city upon a divine white steed given him by an angel. This, he later presented to the King with the promise that his cavalry would always be victorious in battle. Budic may have ruled jointly with his son, Hoel I Mawr (the Great) in his later years. He eventually died in 545, having left his grandson and heir, Tewdwr, in the care of King Macliau of the Vannetais.
