- Father: Eirik Eiriksson II of JUTLAND
- Mother: Gisela Of JUTLAND
- Birth: 870, Jylland, Denmark
- Also known as: Ragnhild the Mighty
- LifeSketch: I've unmerged this person. She had been merged with her mother and father ?? All her Sources had disappeared too. Very strange ... Ragnild Eriksdatter "the Rich", daughter of RÖRIK [Horik/Erik], King of the Danes Ragnhild the Mighty (Old Norse: Ragnhildr inn Rika Eiríksdóttir, Norwegian: Ragnhild Eiriksdatter) was a wife of Harald Fairhair, according to Icelandic historian Snorri Sturluson. According to Sturluson's Heimskringla saga, Ragnhild was the daughter of the Jutish king, Eirikr. She had a son, Eirik Bloodaxe, by Harald, who left all his previous wives and concubines for her. Snorri cites a stanza from Hrafnsmál to back this claim up, but said stanza only mentions Harald rejected a several women for "a danish woman". The couple were only married for three years before Ragnhild became ill and died. She was born in AD 870 and died in AD 897 at age 27. Historian Claus Krag, proponent of a revisionist view that Harald Fairhair was a powerful ruler of Vestlandet, rather than the king of all Norway, has questioned the story of Ragnhild the Mighty. He notes that no other sources mention her supposed father, King Eirik of Jutland, and suggests that at least this part of the narrative is an invention by Sturluson (or his source) to legitimize Eirik Bloodaxe's name and royal claim. Even in Heimskringla Sturluson contradicts himself by saying that during the time Harald ruled Norway, Gorm the Old ruled all of Denmark, which would have left little room for a King Eirik. On the other hand, Gorm is considered to have ruled only parts of Denmark, and his son Harald Bluetooth is said to have finally united Denmark under his rule. Though Hrafnsmál, generally considered to be a contemporary work, mentions Ragnhild, this could well refer to the more widely attested mother of Harald Fairhair, also called Ragnhild. Eirik Bloodaxe is widely attested to have had a daughter called Ragnhild. Though it was medieval custom to name a child after one's parent, this custom extended to grandparents as well, so her namesake might also have been Eirik's grandmother.[

- 1ST WIFE OF EDWARD THE ELDER: (Date and Place unknown)
- LifeSketch: Ecgwynn or Ecgwynna (fl. 890s), was the first consort of Edward the Elder, later King of the English (reigned 899–924), by whom she bore the future King Æthelstan (r. 924–939), and a daughter who married Sihtric Cáech, Norse king of Dublin, Ireland, and Northumbria. Extremely little is known about her background and life. Not even her name is given in any sources until after the Norman Conquest. The first to record it is William of Malmesbury, who presents it in Latinised guise as Egwinna and who is in fact the principal source for her existence. Ecgwynn disappears from history by 899, it's believed that she died about this time. Her son was sent to Mercia to be raised by his aunt,

- NOT EDWARD I: The regnal numbering of English monarchs starts after the Norman conquest, which is why Edward the Elder, who was the first King Edward, is not referred to as Edward I.
- LifeSketch: Edward (Eadweard) the Elder (c. 870 – 17 July 924) was King of the Anglo-Saxons from 899 until his death. He was the elder son of Alfred the Great and his wife Ealhswith. When Edward succeeded to the throne, he had to defeat a challenge from his cousin Æthelwold, who had a strong claim to the throne as the son of Alfred's elder brother and predecessor, Æthelred. Alfred had succeeded Æthelred as king of Wessex in 871, and almost faced defeat against the Danish Vikings until his decisive victory at the Battle of Edington in 878. After the battle, the Vikings still ruled Northumbria, East Anglia and eastern Mercia, leaving only Wessex and western Mercia under Anglo-Saxon control. In the early 880s Æthelred, Lord of the Mercians, the ruler of western Mercia, accepted Alfred's lordship and married his daughter Æthelflæd, and around 886 Alfred adopted the new title King of the Anglo-Saxons as the ruler of all Anglo-Saxons not subject to Danish rule. In 910 a Mercian and West Saxon army inflicted a decisive defeat on an invading Northumbrian army, ending the threat from the northern Vikings. In the 910s, Edward conquered Viking-ruled southern England in partnership with his sister Æthelflæd, who had succeeded as Lady of the Mercians following the death of her husband in 911. Historians dispute how far Mercia was dominated by Wessex during this period, and after Æthelflæd's death in June 918, her daughter Ælfwynn briefly became second Lady of the Mercians, but in December Edward took her into Wessex and imposed direct rule on Mercia. By the end of the 910s he ruled Wessex, Mercia and East Anglia, and only Northumbria remained under Viking rule. In 924 he faced a Mercian and Welsh revolt at Chester, and after putting it down he died at Farndon in Cheshire on 17 July 924. He was succeeded by his eldest son Æthelstan. Edward was admired by medieval chroniclers, and in the view of William of Malmesbury, he was "much inferior to his father in the cultivation of letters" but "incomparably more glorious in the power of his rule". He was largely ignored by modern historians until the 1990s, and Nick Higham described him as "perhaps the most neglected of English kings", partly because few primary sources for his reign survive. His reputation rose in the late twentieth century and he is now seen as destroying the power of the Vikings in southern England while laying the foundations for a south-centered united English kingdom. Edward had about fourteen children from three marriages. About 893 Edward first married Ecgwynn. Children: 1 Alfred, died circa 901 2 Æthelstan, King of England 924–939 3 A daughter, perhaps called Edith, married Sihtric, Viking King of York in 926, who died in 927. Possibly Saint Edith of Polesworth About 900 Edward married second Ælfflæd (Elfleda), daughter of Ealdorman Æthelhelm, probably of Wiltshire. Maybe William of Malmesbury. Children: 4 Ælfweard, died August 924, a month after his father; possibly King of Wessex for that month 5 Edwin, drowned at sea 933 6 Æthelhild (Ethelhilda), lay sister at Wilton Abbey 7 Eadgifu (Edgiva, died in or after 951), married Charles the Simple, King of the West Franks, c. 918 8 Eadflæd (Edfleda), nun at Wilton Abbey 9 Eadhild (Ethilda), married Hugh the Great, Duke of the Franks in 926 10 Eadgyth (Edgitha, 946), married in 929/30 Otto I, future King of the East Franks, and after Eadgyth's death Holy Roman Emperor 11 Ælfgifu (Elfgiva), married "a prince near the Alps", perhaps Louis, brother of King Rudolph II of Burgundy About 919 Edward married third Eadgifu, daughter of Sigehelm, Ealdorman of Kent. Children: 12 Edmund I, King of England 939–946 13 Eadred, King of England 946–955 14 Eadburh (died c. 952), Benedictine nun at Nunnaminster, Winchester, and saint https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_the_Elder

- Father: Esla GEWISSON
- Mother: Isaive spouse of Esla GEWISSON
- Birth: 469, Sachsen, Germany
- Also known as: Eleason
- LifeSketch: Elesason is here identified as female and a princess and yet there is no evidence her father Elesa was ever a king or ruler. Also the name Elesason for a female is highly improbable as the name means quite literally "Son of Elesa". In looking at the many attached 'Legacy files" the name is identified as "Eleason"

- Title Of Nobility: King of South Rheged, BET 570 AND 613, Rheged, Wales
- LifeSketch: Wikipedia - Llywarch Hen Born c. 534 Rheged Died c. 608 Nationality Brythonic kingdom of Rheged Occupation Poet Children 24 to 39 sons, and a few daughters (attached list is taken directly from Early British Kingdoms -Northern British Pedigrees, in sources) Parent(s) Elidurus (father) Llywarch Hen ([ˈɬəwarχ ˈheːn], "Llywarch the Old"; c. 534 – c. 608), was a prince and poet of the Brythonic kingdom of Rheged, a ruling family in the Hen Ogledd or "Old North" of Britain (modern southern Scotland and northern England). Along with Taliesin, Aneirin, and Myrddin, he is held to be one of the four great bards of early Welsh poetry. Whether he actually wrote the poems attributed to him is unknown, and most of what is known about his life is derived from early medieval poems which may or may not be historically accurate. Llywarch Hen was the son of Elidurus, chief of Argoed (in the Rheged region, later Cumberland).[1] In the genealogy known as "Bonedd Gwŷr y Gogledd (The Descent of the Men of the North)" he is listed as a descendant of Coel Hen (King Cole), and is first cousin to King Urien Rheged. It is thought that he may have been a monarch himself, with Urien ruling northern Rheged, and Llywarch ruling the south.[2] In his 1953 book The Derbyshire Dales, Norman Price links Llywarch to Carl Wark near Sheffield. In his youth, he is said to have fought by the side of the brave Gereint at the Battle of Llongborth. After the battle, he attached himself to the court of Urien, where he "lived bravely, clothed himself sumptuously, did not spare the ale and mead, and was blessed with 24 sons."[1] These sons are mentioned in the poem Canu Llywarch Hen, although various sources list as many as thirty-nine, plus a few daughters. After the fall of Urien, Llywarch was given the task of returning to Rheged with Urien's severed head.[3] The kingdom fell to Urien's son Owain, who was slain at the Battle of Catraeth, along with almost the entire host of Britons, including all of Llywarch's sons. His friends and family all dead, he is advised to flee to the court of Cynddylan in the Kingdom of Powys. When Cynddylan was slain in battle, Llywarch was left friendless and destitute, with nothing but the milk from a single cow to support him. According to legend, he lived in a hut at Aber-Ciog (now called Dol-Giog), alone with his harp, composing his poems (which would have been sung).[4] At this point, a monk associated with Llanfor in Meirionydd, near Llyn Tegid in Gwynedd, is said to have taken pity on him, converted him, and witnessed his happy death.[1] Near this site, there is a mound known as Pabell Llywarch (Llywarch's Tent), and further south lies Clawdd Llywarch Hen (Llywarch Hen's Dyke).[2] The Bonedd lists his date of birth as c. 534, and his death as c. 608, so he would have been around 80 years old at the time of his death, in keeping with his epithet of Llywarch "the old".[2] However, some sources list different birth and death dates, with claims of his age reaching 105, or even 150 years.[5]Descendants Merfyn Frych, who became king of Gwynedd c. 825, established a new dynasty. He was the first king of Gwynedd not to claim descent from Cunedda, instead he claimed to be a direct descendant of Llywarch Hen.[6] Works His life was the subject of a presumed lost saga of which only the poetry, a series of englynion, survives, known as Canu Llywarch Hen. The words are put into the mouth of Llywarch himself, although they were clearly composed somewhat later, possibly between about 800 and 900. These may have been passed down orally before being written down at a much later date. The Canu Heledd, concerning the fall of the kings of the Pengwern region, and the elegy Geraint son of Erbin, concerning the Battle of Llongborth, are also associated indirectly with Llywarch. Works attributed to him include: Let the Cock's Comb Be Red Usual is the Wind the Calends of Winter Entangling is the Snare Bright are the Ash Tops Sitting High Upon a Hill I Was Formerly Fair of Limb The Death of Urien Maenwyn, When I Was Your Age Geraint son of Erbin

- Also known as: Elessa
- Also known as: Elesa Elsasson
- Title Of Nobility: King of Elisens
- Affiliation: Father of the founder of the Royal House of Cerdicing, otherwise known as the House of Wessex
- LifeSketch: Elesa identified as the father of Cerdic and the son of Elsa. The name of Elesa's mother is not recorded. Elessa and Isaive are identified as the parents of Cerdic, with Elessa specifically identified as his father. From this we know Isaive was his mother. Some sources seem to indicate that Cerdic was illegitimate, therefore we do not know with certainty if Isaive and Elessa were married. Cerdic (Elesa's son) landed in what is today Hampshire in 495 with his son Cynric in five ships. It is not know with certainty from where Cerdic came. It has been surmised that he was a native Britton, of that he came from Jutland and the Saxon coast. Cerdic, first king of the West Saxons (519–534), is recorded as descended from Woden. This mythical descent is set out in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle: "Woden/Bældæg/Brand/Frithugar/Freawine/Wig/Gewis/Esla/Elesa/Cerdic". Elesa has been identified by some scholars with the Romano-British Elasius, the "chief of the region", met by Germanus of Auxerre. [ Grosjean, P., Analecta Bollandiana, 1957. Hagiographie Celtique pp. 158–226. Nicholl, D. (1958) Celts, Romans and Saxons, Studies: An Irish Quarterly Review, Vol. 47, No. 187 (Autumn 1958), p. 300] There is no evidence that Elesa was a king or ruler as some have identified him, although it is a possibility. -------------------------------- If correct Elesa Birthdate: estimated between 403 and 463 Death: (Date and location unknown) Immediate Family: Son of Esla and N.N. Husband of N.N. Father of Cerdic, king of the West Saxons and (Poss) daughter of Elesa Mother of Withgar ....

- Mother: Fabia PROBA
- Birth: ABT 685, Byzantine Empire
- LifeSketch: Leo was of Syrian origin, his original name was Konon, was born in Germanikeia in the Syrian province of Commagene (modern Kahramanmaraş in Turkey). Some, including the Byzantine chronicler Theophanes, have claimed that Konon's family had been resettled in Thrace, where he entered the service of Emperor Justinian II, when the latter was advancing on Constantinople with an army of loyalist followers, and horsemen provided by Tervel of Bulgaria in 705. Leo was fluent in Arabic, possibly as a native language, and was described by Theophanes as "the Saracen minded." After the victory of Justinian II, Konon was dispatched on a diplomatic mission to Alania and Lazica to organize an alliance against the Umayyad Caliphate under Al-Walid I. According to the Chronicle of Theophanes Justinian wanted to get rid of Konon and took back the money that had been given to him to help advance Byzantine interests, thus leaving Konon stranded in Alania. The chronicle describes the mission as successful and Konon returning eventually to Justinian after crossing the Caucasus mountains in May with snowshoes and taking the fortress of Sideron (associated with Tsebelda) on the way. Konon was appointed commander (stratēgos) of the Anatolic Theme by Emperor Anastasius II. On his deposition, Konon joined with his colleague Artabasdus, the stratēgos of the Armeniac Theme, in conspiring to overthrow the new Emperor Theodosius III. Artabasdus was betrothed to Anna, daughter of Leo as part of the agreement.

- LifeSketch: There are sharply divided views on Bardiya's life. He either ruled the Achaemenid Empire for a few months in 522 BC, or was impersonated by a magus called Gaumāta, until he was toppled by Darius the Great. Some contracts dating from Bardiya's reign have been found in Babylonia, where his name is spelled "Barziya" or "Bardiya." Darius said that Bardiya destroyed some temples, which Darius later restored. Bardiya also took away the herds and houses of the people, which Darius corrected once he gained the throne. The death of the false Bardiya was celebrated annually in Persia by a feast called "the killing of the magian," (Magiophani) at which no magian was allowed to show himself. -- Wikiwand: Bardiya

- slain by Magnentius: (Date and Place unknown)
- LifeSketch: Flavius Valerius Constantinus, as he was originally named, was born in the city of Naissus (today Niš, Serbia), part of the Dardania province of Moesia on 27 February,[33] probably c. AD 272.[34] His father was Flavius Constantius, an Illyrian,[35][36] and a native of Dardania province of Moesia (later Dacia Ripensis).[37] Constantine probably spent little time with his father[38] who was an officer in the Roman army, part of the Emperor Aurelian's imperial bodyguard. Being described as a tolerant and politically skilled man,[39] Constantius advanced through the ranks, earning the governorship of Dalmatia from Emperor Diocletian, another of Aurelian's companions from Illyricum, in 284 or 285.[37] Constantine's mother was Helena, a Greek woman of low social standing from Helenopolis of Bithynia.[40] It is uncertain whether she was legally married to Constantius or merely his concubine.[41] His main language was Latin, and during his public speeches he needed Greek translators.[4 In July AD 285, Diocletian declared Maximian, another colleague from Illyricum, his co-emperor. Each emperor would have his own court, his own military and administrative faculties, and each would rule with a separate praetorian prefect as chief lieutenant.[43] Maximian ruled in the West, from his capitals at Mediolanum (Milan, Italy) or Augusta Treverorum (Trier, Germany), while Diocletian ruled in the East, from Nicomedia (İzmit, Turkey). The division was merely pragmatic: the empire was called "indivisible" in official panegyric,[44] and both emperors could move freely throughout the empire.[45] In 288, Maximian appointed Constantius to serve as his praetorian prefect in Gaul. Constantius left Helena to marry Maximian's stepdaughter Theodora in 288 or 289.[46] Diocletian divided the Empire again in AD 293, appointing two caesars (junior emperors) to rule over further subdivisions of East and West. Each would be subordinate to their respective augustus (senior emperor) but would act with supreme authority in his assigned lands. This system would later be called the Tetrarchy. Diocletian's first appointee for the office of Caesar was Constantius; his second was Galerius, a native of Felix Romuliana. According to Lactantius, Galerius was a brutal, animalistic man. Although he shared the paganism of Rome's aristocracy, he seemed to them an alien figure, a semi-barbarian.[47] On 1 March, Constantius was promoted to the office of caesar, and dispatched to Gaul to fight the rebels Carausius and Allectus.[48] In spite of meritocratic overtones, the Tetrarchy retained vestiges of hereditary privilege,[49] and Constantine became the prime candidate for future appointment as caesar as soon as his father took the position. Constantine went to the court of Diocletian, where he lived as his father's heir presumptive.[50]

- Birth: 262, Syria, Asia Minor
- Also known as: Caesarissa
- Title (Nobility): Empress of The Roman Empire
- Fact: Minervina was Constantine's 1st wife
- LifeSketch: Wikipedia Minervina was the first wife of Constantine the Great.[1] She was of Syrian origin.[2][3][4] Constantine either took her as a concubine or married her in 303 AD, and the couple had one son, Crispus. Life Constantine served as a hostage in the court of Eastern Roman Emperor Diocletian in Nicomedia, thus securing the loyalty of his father Constantius Chlorus, Caesar of the Western Roman Empire. When Constantine wanted to strengthen his bonds with the other Tetrarchs, in 307 AD he set aside Minervina and married Fausta, daughter of Augustus Maximian. The marriage of Constantine to Fausta has caused modern historians to question the status of his relation to Minervina and Crispus. If Minervina was his legitimate wife, Constantine would have needed to secure a divorce before marrying Fausta. This would have required an official written order signed by Constantine himself, but no such order is mentioned by contemporary sources. This silence in the sources has led many historians to conclude that the relationship between Constantine and Minervina was informal and to assume her to have been an unofficial lover. However, Minervina may have already been dead by 307. A widowed Constantine would need no divorce. Neither the true nature of the relationship between Constantine and Minervina nor the reason Crispus came under the protection of his father will ever probably be known. The offspring of an illegitimate affair could have caused dynastical problems and would likely be dismissed, but Crispus was raised by his father in Gaul. This can be seen as evidence of a loving and public relationship between Constantine and Minervina which gave him a reason to protect her son. The story of Minervina is quite similar to that of Constantine's mother Helena. Constantine's father later had to divorce her for political reasons, specifically, to marry Flavia Maximiana Theodora, the daughter of Maximian, in order to secure his alliance with his new father-in-law. Constantine in turn may have had to put aside Minervina in order to secure an alliance with the same man. Constantius did not however dismiss Constantine as his son, and perhaps Constantine chose to follow the example of his father. Whatever the reason, Constantine kept Crispus at his side. Surviving sources are unanimous in declaring him a loving, trusting and protective father to his first son. Constantine even entrusted his education to Lactantius, among the most important Christian teachers of that time, who probably started teaching Crispus before 317.

- Father: Edmund the MAGNIFICENT
- Mother: Ælfgifu OF SHAFTESBURY
- Birth: 940, Wessex, England
- Also known as: King Eadwig Wessex
- Controversial Marriage: Shortly before or after becoming king, Eadwig married Ælfgifu. The union was one of the most controversial royal marriages in 10th-century England., 955, Wessex
- Title Of Nobility: King of the English
- Forced Annulment: The church opposed the marriage of Eadwig and Ælfgifu. It was determined they were 3rd cousins and therefore too closely related to marry. After 3 years of matrimony they were forced to accept the annulment of their marriage by the Archbishop Oda of Canterbury in 958., 958, Wessex
- LifeSketch: Eadwig, also spelled Edwy (c. 940 – October 959), sometimes called the All-Fair, was King of England from 955 until his premature death. Eadwig was the oldest son of Edmund I and his first wife Ælfgifu of Shaftesbury. Eadwig's father died when he was 5 or 6 and was succeeded as King of England by his brother Eadred. Upon his uncles death in 955, Eadwig succeeded to the throne at the age of 16. Eadwig's short reign was tarnished by disputes with nobles and men of the church, including Archbishops Dunstan and Oda. He died in 959, having ruled less than four years. He was buried in the capital Winchester. His brother Edgar the Peaceful succeeded him. Eadwig married Ælfgifu, daughter of Æthelgifu, when he was 16 and shortly after becoming King. The marriage was forcibly annulled by Archbishop Oda, against the will of the couple, on the grounds of consanguinity, it was believed they were too closely related. It is now believed the annulment was politically motivated. After the dissolution of his marriage, it is understandable that Eadwig would have a contentious relationship with Oda and other members of the Church who supported him. Eadwig and Ælfgifu did not have any children. More information at this website: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eadwig

- Also known as: Edburga
- Also known as: Princess Eadburh Wessex
- Also known as: Saint Eadburh of Winchester
- Occupation: Benedictine Nun at Nunnaminster Abby, Winchester, Wiltshire, Kingdom of Wessex
- LifeSketch: Eadburh (or Edburga) (died 15 June 960) was the daughter of King Edward the Elder of England and his third wife, Eadgifu of Kent. In the twelfth century, a Latin Life of her was written by Osbert de Clare, who became prior of Westminster in 1136 (and who also wrote a Life of King Edward the Confessor).According to Osbert, at the age of three, Eadburh was given as an oblate to the Queen Mother Ealhswith's foundation of St Mary's Abbey, Winchester (Nunnaminster). There Eadburh was educated and there she remained as a nun and died probably before the age of forty. There is little contemporary information for her life, but in a Winchester charter dated 939, she was the beneficiary of land at Droxford in Hampshire granted by her half-brother King Athelstan. According to one account, when Eadburh was three years of age, her father sought an indication as to whether she would live in the world or as a religious. On one side he placed rings and bracelets, on the other a chalice and gospel book. A nurse brought the child, and King Edward set her on his knee, inviting her to choose. When he set her down, she chose the religious items. The hagiography written of her in the 12th century by Osbert of Clare shows evidence of some of the unusual occurrences that might have happened in that time period when a member of a royal family became a monk or nun. In one story, her father visits her in the monastery and she sings for him, and he asks her if there is anything he can do for her, and she asks for him to give the community an estate at Canning, which he does so. In another story, the abbess found her reading alone, which was against the rules of the monastery, and then thrashed her. When the abbess realized it was the princess and not an ordinary nun, the abbess then begged forgiveness from her. In another story, she one time insisted on cleaning the shoes of her well-born companions, and they felt shocked by this and reported it to her father as behaviour that is not right for her. A cult developed after her death and is first mentioned in the Salisbury Psalter from the early 970s. In 972, some of her remains were transferred to Pershore Abbey in Worcestershire, which is dedicated to SS. Mary, Peter and Paul, and Eadburh. Her feast is celebrated on 15 June. Her cultus continued to flourish to judge by the Lives written in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.

- LifeSketch: Eadgifu or Edgiva, daughter of Edward the Elder. Confusion abounds about this medieval princess, she was without a doubt the daughter of King Edward, however, it is uncertain if she was a 15th child, his 9th daughter, born of Edwards 3rd wife Eadgifu, or if she was the same as his daughter Ælfgifu/Eadgifu youngest of his children born to Edward's 2nd wife Ælfflæd. It is most likely that she was the daughter of Ælfflæd, and was very young when her mother died, and was therefore raised by Edward's 3rd wife Eadgifu.
