- Father: Charles II LE CHAUVE
- Mother: Ermentrude D'ORLÉANS
- Birth: ABT 849, Francie occidentale
- Also known as: Karlmann
- Title Of Nobility: Prince of Franks
- LifeSketch: Carloman was the youngest son of Charles the Bald, king of West Francia, and his first wife, Ermentrude. Born in 848, Carloman was tonsured as a child in 854, his father decided he would dedicate his life to the church. This was done with the future in mind, to preventing a partition of the kingdom. Carloman was tutored by Abbot Wulfad, a future archbishop. In 860 Carloman was ordained a deacon and acquired the abbacy of Saint-Médard de Soissons. In the following decade he acquired the abbacies of Saint-Amand d'Elnon, Saint-Riquier, Lobbes and Saint-Arnould de Metz. In 865, Lothair the Lame, Carloman's older brother and fellow ecclesiastic, died and Carloman succeeded him in the abbey of Saint-Germain d'Auxerre. In 866 Charles the Child, King of Aquitaine, died. With the death of his brothers, Carloman became second in line to the throne after his oldest brother, Louis the Stammerer. Charles the Bald's fears for the kingdom had been well founded, Carloman resented being forced into the church, by 870 he had gathered an aristocratic following, mostly from Lotharingia and Flanders. Anticipating a revolt, Charles put Carloman's defiance to an end. Carloman was arrested, tried, imprisoned at Senlis, and his abbacies forfeited. Carloman escaped to Flanders, where he gathered a small army. In early 871 Carloman and all his supporters were excommunicated. Carloman was re-tried in 873 and blinded, but escaped imprisonment by fleeing to the protection of his uncle, King Louis the German, in East Francia. Carloman died there about 877. ------------- “Royal Ancestry: A Study in Colonial & Medieval Families,” Douglas Richardson (2013): “CHARLES II the Bald, King of Neustria, 838-840, King of the West Franks, 840-877, King of (western) Lorraine, 870-877, King of Italy, 875-877, Emperor, 875-877, son by his father's 2nd marriage, born at Frankfurt-am-Main 13 June 823. He married (1st) at Quierzy, Aisne 13 Dec. 842 ERMENTRUDE OF ORLÉANS, daughter of Eudes, Count of Orléans, by his wife, Engeltrude. She was born 27 Sept., about 830. They had six sons, Louis (II) [King of Neustria, King of Aquitaine, King of France], Charles [King of Aquitaine], Karlmann (or Carloman) [Abbot of St.-Germain of Auxerre], Lothair [Abbot of St.-Germain of Auxerre], Dreux, and Pépin, and four daughters, Judith, Hildegarde, Ermentrude [Abbess of Hasnon], and Gisela (or Gisele). His wife, Ermentrude, died 6 October 869. He married (2nd) 12 October 869, confirmed at Aix-la-Chapelle 22 Jan. 870 RICHILDE OF GORZE, daughter of Bivin, Count and Abbot of Gorze, by daughter of Boson l'Ancien, count in Italy. They had three children, including one son, Charles, and one daughter, Rothilde (wife of Rodgar [or Roger], Count of Maine). CHARLES II the Bald, Emperor, King of the West Franks, died at Brides-les-Bains (Savoie, Fr.) 6 October 877, and was buried at Nantua monastery, later at St. Denis. - Father: Robert LE DANOIS
- Mother: Herleva DE ROUEN
- Birth: Evreux, Eure, Duché de Normandie
- Title Of Nobility: Count d'Évreux
- LifeSketch: GUILLAUME d'Evreux . Guillaume of Jumièges records that “Richardus Ebroicensis comes...Willelmus...frater eius” married “Hadevisam filia Geroii relictam Roberti de Grentemaisnil”[695]. He is named as "son of Archbishop Robert" by Orderic Vitalis[696]. m (after 17 Jun [1040]) as her second husband, HAWISE, widow of ROBERT de Grantmesnil, daughter of GIROIE & his wife Gisla de Bastenbourg (-10 May ----). Guillaume of Jumièges records that “Richardus Ebroicensis comes...Willelmus...frater eius” married “Hadevisam filia Geroii relictam Roberti de Grentemaisnil”[697]. Orderic Vitalis records that "Geroius" married “Gislam Turstini de Basteburgo filiam” by whom he had “septem filios et quatuor filias...Ernaldus, Willermus, Fulcoius, Radulfus Mala-corona, Rodbertus, Hugo et Geroius, Heremburgis, Hadvisa, Emma, Adelais”, adding in a later passage that Hawise married firstly “Rodberto de Grentemaisnilio”, by whom she had “Hugonem et Rodbertum et Ernaldum et totidem filias”, and secondly “Willermo Rodberti archiepiscopo filio” by whom she had “Judith” who later married “Rogerii comitis Siciliæ”[698]. The necrology of the monastery of Ouche records the death "10 May" of "Haudvisa mater Hugonis de Grentesmesnil"[699]. Guillaume & his wife had [two] children: a) JUDITH d'Evreux (-1076). Orderic Vitalis names “Judith” who later married “Rogerii comitis Siciliæ” as the child of “Willermo Rodberti archiepiscopo filio” and his wife[700]. Orderic Vitalis records that “duæ sorores uterinæ Rodberti abbatis [Robert de Grantmesnil, ex-abbot of Ouche] Judith et Emma” had been left “apud Uticum in capella sancti Ebrulfi...sub sacro velamine”, that when they learnt that “Rodbertum fratrem suum” was established in Apulia with “secular power” (“sæculari potentia”) they left for Italy where they both married, Judith marrying “Rogerius Siciliæ comes” and Emma marrying “aliusque comes, cujus nomen no recolo”, dated to [1061/63][701]. Malaterra records the marriage "apud Sanctum Martinum" of "abbatum Sanctæ Euphemiæ Robertum…Judicta sorore sua" and Count Roger[702]. m (San Martino d'Agri Nov 1061) as his first wife, ROGER de Hauteville, son of TANCRED de Hauteville & his [second wife] [Fressenda] ([1031]-Mileto 22 Jun 1101, bur Mileto, Abbey of the Holy Trinity). His brother installed him as ROGER I Count of Sicily in 1072. b) [EMMA . Orderic Vitalis records that “duæ sorores uterinæ Rodberti abbatis [Robert de Grantmesnil, ex-abbot of Ouche] Judith et Emma” had been left “apud Uticum in capella sancti Ebrulfi...sub sacro velamine”, that when they learnt that “Rodbertum fratrem suum” was established in Apulia with “secular power” (“sæculari potentia”) they left for Italy where they both married, Judith marrying “Rogerius Siciliæ comes” and Emma marrying “aliusque comes, cujus nomen no recolo”, dated to [1061/63][703]. The reference to Judith and Emma being “sorores uterinæ” suggests that they did not share the same father as Robert. However, in another passage, the same source names Judith as the child (implicitly “only child”) of “Willermo Rodberti archiepiscopo filio” and his wife[704]. It is therefore unclear whether Emma was one of Robert’s full sisters or half-sisters, although the order of the names of the two sisters suggests that Emma was younger than Judith and therefore born from the same marriage of their mother. m ---.]

Richard was the eldest son of Robert II Archbishop of Rouen and Count of Évreux and Herleva.[1] Richard donated a mill at Evreux to the abbey of Jumièges by charter dated [26 Mar 1038/14 Apr 1039]. He is mentioned in a charter of King William I confirming Richard as having been a benefactor to that abbey.[2] Richard and his wife, Godechildis, founded Saint-Sauveur d´Evreux.[3] As Count of Evreux, he donated the church of Gravigny to Sainte-Trinité de Rouen, dated [1052/66]. Richard donated the tithe of a town to the abbey of Saint-Taurin.[4] Some report him as taking part in the battle of Hastings on 14 Oct 1066, but it is unlikely due to his advanced age and death the next year. His son, William, was one of the few known companions of William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.[5] William contributed 80 ships to the invasion of England in 1066, appearing as Count of Évreux.[6] Richard died in 1067.[1] Family Richard married, after 1040, Godehildis (or Adelaide) Ramon, the widow of Roger I of Tosny. [a] Richard and Godehildis had the following issue: William d'Evreux († 1118), succeeded his father as Count of Évreux.[1] Godehildis d'Evreux, nun at St. Sauveur, Évreux.[7] Agnes d'Evreux, married Simon I de Montfort.[b][1]

- LifeSketch: 1. wkipedia: Plectrude (Latin: Plectrudis; German: Plektrud, Plechtrudis)[1] (died 718) was the consort of Pepin of Herstal, the mayor of the palace and duke of the Franks, from about 670. She was the daughter of Hugobert, seneschal of Clovis IV, and Irmina of Oeren. She was the regent of Neustria during the minority of her grandson Theudoald from 714 until 718. Biography Plectrude was described as politically active and influential upon her husband and his reign. She brought a large amount of property to the Arnulfing house.[2] During the reign of Pepin, she appears as his joint signatory in every legal instrument issued by him that is still preserved, which was unusual for this time period. Her son Grimoald was murdered in 714. She ensured Pepin II's assent that Theudoald, Grimoald's son, would be his main heir. When Pepin died soon thereafter, she took power in Neustria as regent of the under-age Theudoald. To ensure her reign, she imprisoned Charles Martel, Pepin II's son with his second wife Alpaida, in Cologne. Charles is often said to have been illegitimate, but this is considered by many today an anachronistic interpretation of his status. Charles' contemporaries most likely did not consider him illegitimate, as he was born while his mother Alpaida was married to Pepin the Frank, and noblemen practiced polygamy in this period.[3][4] In 715, the Neustrian nobility rebelled against her in alliance with Radbod of Friesland and defeated her in the Battle of Compiègne, which took place on September 26, 715, causing her to take refuge in Cologne. Cologne was the homeland of her family clan and where she kept Pepin's money. In 716, Chilperic II, the king of the Franks, and Ragenfrid, the mayor of the palace, led an army into Austrasia, near Cologne, where Plectrude had gone. They defeated her and freed Charles Martel. The king and his mayor then turned to besiege their other rival in the city and claimed it. The treasury shortly after received recognition by the king and mayor. The juncture of these events favored Charles. In 717, he chased the king and the mayor to Paris before turning back to deal with Plectrude in Cologne. He then took the city and dispersed her adherents. Plectrude entered a convent, and died shortly after in the same year in Cologne, where she was buried in the monastery of Notre Dame which she had founded. 2. from www.geni.com Plectrude Also Known As:"Plectrudis", "Plectrude" Birthdate:after circa 650 Birthplace:Herstal, Liege, Walloon Region, Belgium Death:Died 717 in Cologne, Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany Place of Burial:Santa Maria, Colônia (Alemanha) Immediate Family: Daughter of Hugobert von Echternach, Count Palatine and St. Irmina, abbess of Oeren Wife of Pépin II of Héristal, Mayor of the Palace of Austrasia Mother of Sylvius Heristal, Bishop; Drogo, duc de Champagne et Bourgogne and Grimoald II the Younger Sister of Bertrade de Prüm; Chrodelinde; Theodard, bishop of Liège; Son of Hugobert Son Of Bavaria; Gisela ? von Bayern; Regintrud; Norbert of Aquitaine and Adela des Pfalzel « less 3. Issue Her sons by Pepin were: Drogo, duke of Champagne Grimoald, mayor of the palace of Neustria References "Pippin II (d. 714) extended the family's influence further south by marrying Plectrude, whose family had founded the monastery at Echternach and controlled great tracts of land in the Ardennes and the middle Moselle region."
