Biography She married first in England about 1613 Thomas Harris, alias Williams. Many online profiles name her Elizabeth Hills, but proof of this maiden name has not been found. [1] "Elizabeth Williams"[2] After her first husband died, she married William Stilson, who also took over the ferry business of Thomas Harris. Her death is given as 16 Feb 1669/70, aged 93 [ChVR 1:73]; she was more likely a decade younger. William Stitson wrote his will on April 12, 1689/90and in it he names, among others: to John Harris, Thomas Harris, William Harris, Daniel Harris and Anna Maverick, relict widow of Elias Maverick, the children of my first wife - 5 shillings each [3] Note Elizabeth Harris married again in 1634, her second husband being Deacon William Stitson, an elder of the Puritan Church. - Birth: 975, York, Yorkshire, England
- Also known as: Sigen Styrsdottir of Northumbria
- LifeSketch: Sige (also Sigen) was the daughter of Styr, son of Ulf. Styr was identified by Simeon of Durham as 'a rich citizen of York', but was most likely from Deira. About 1004 (or before) Sige became the 2nd wife of Uhtred of Bamburgh, it appears the marriage was a political alliance with the Danes in Deira. As Sige's father was rich and influential the marriage would strengthen Uhtred's standing in Northumbria. In return, as part of the marriage agreement, Uhtred was to kill Thurbrand the Hold, identified as a mortal enemy of Styr. Sige and Uhtred certainly married no later that 1004 but separated about 1006. Probably because Uhtred did not kill Thurbrand as promised, and had another more prosperous marriage in mind. Before separating Sige and Uhtred had two children: -Eadulf, also identified as Eadwulf and Eadulf III, died 1041. -Gospatric. Uhtred should have upheld his part of the marriage agreement and killed Thurbrand for in 1016 Thurbrand instead murdered Uhtred. Uhtred's brother succeeded him as Lord of Northumbria, then Uhtred's oldest son Ealdred. Upon Ealdred's death in 1038, Sige's oldest son Eadulf, half-brother of Ealdred, became Earl of Northumbria. After her marriage to Uhtred it is not known what became of Sige.

- Father: Ermenrich spouse of Wadamerca Of OSTROGOTHS
- Mother: Wadamerca of OSTROGOTHS
- Birth: 378, Galicia, Hispania
- Title Of Nobility: King of the Suevi in Spain
- LifeSketch: From Wikipedia Rechila[1] (died 448) was the Suevic King of Galicia from 438 until his death. There are few primary sources for his life, but Hydatius was a contemporary Christian (non-Arian) chronicler in Galicia. When his father, Hermeric, turned ill in 438, he retired from active political life (dying in 441) and handed the reins of government and the royal title over to his son.[2] He endeavoured to expand the Suevic kingdom to fill the vacuum left by the retiring Vandals and Alans. In 438 he defeated Andevotus, the comes Hispaniarum, on the river Genil (Singillio).[3] The Roman position in Iberia became so tenuous that three magistri utriusque militiae (masters of both services) were sent to the peninsula between 441 and 446. Invading southern Iberia, Rechila took the provincial capitals of Mérida in 439 and Seville in 441.[4] These conquests were extremely significant, but nothing of the sequence of events leading to them is known. The provinces of Lusitania, Baetica, and Carthaginiensis were subjected to the Suevi with the exception of the Levante and the Mediterranean seaboard.[5] Rechila was involved in near constant war with the Romans. While returning in 440 from his third embassy to the Suevi, the Roman legate Censorius was captured by Rechila near Mértola (Myrtilis). The king had him imprisoned for the remainder of his reign. Rechila died a pagan in Mérida: gentilis moritur ("died a gentile") according to Hydatius, but Isidore of Seville, writing well over a century and a half later, and whose source was Hydatius, says ut ferunt, gentilitatis vitam finivit ("finished his life a gentile, so they say"). There is no reason, however, for accepting Isidore's doubts, which were probably precipitated by the fact that Rechila's son and successor was the Catholic Rechiar.[6] Some scholars have raised the contention that his father raised him that way in order to foster good relations with the Church and bring about the easy conversion of the Suevi.[7] Rechila may have been the father or perhaps uncle of the magister militum Ricimer.[8]

- Father: Lucius Cornelius SULLA FELIX
- Mother: Caecilia Metella
- Birth: 86 BC, Rome, Roman Republic
- Title Of Nobility: Quaestor
- LifeSketch: Faustus Cornelius Sulla (before 86 BC – 46 BC) was a Roman senator. Faustus was the only surviving son of the Roman Dictator Lucius Cornelius Sulla and his fourth wife, Caecilia Metella, and thus was a member of one of the most ancient patrician families, the Cornelii. After his father's death in 78 BC, he and his twin sister, Fausta, were brought up by his guardian and father's friend, Lucullus. Faustus married Pompeia, daughter of Pompey the Great. Faustus accompanied Pompey on his Asian campaigns, and was the first to climb over the walls of the Temple of Jerusalem when it was stormed by Pompey in 63 BC. After his return to Rome, he gave gladiatorial games to celebrate his father in 60 BC. At an unknown time before 57 BC, Faustus Sulla became augur. As moneyer in 56 BC, he issued coinage in honor of his father and his father-in-law. As owner of the central slopes of Mount Falernus, his name became synonymous with the most esteemed wine in ancient Rome, Faustian Falernian. Faustus Sulla was quaestor in 54 BC. The senate commissioned him to rebuild the Curia Hostilia in 52 BC which had been burned down after the riots which followed the murder of Clodius. After that the Curia was known as the Curia Cornelia. His career as an advocate was cut short, however, by the civil war between Pompey and Julius Caesar. He, as Lucullus' ward and Pompey's son-in-law, sided with the former. Faustus was at the Battle of Pharsalus in 48 BC, joining the leaders of his party in Africa subsequently. After the Battle of Thapsus, he tried to escape to Mauretania, but was caught and killed by Publius Sittius, a supporter of Caesar, in 46 BC. With Pompeia he had at least two children: Faustus Cornelius Sulla the Younger and Cornelia Sulla (married Lucius Scribonius Libo, who was praetor in 80 BC). From one of whom is presumably descended Faustus Cornelius Sulla Lucullus, suffect consul in 31 AD.

- LifeSketch: Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix[7] (/ˈsʌlə/; 138–78 BC), commonly known as Sulla, was a Roman general and statesman. He won the first large-scale civil war in Roman history, and became the first man of the republic to seize power through force. Sulla Born 138 BC[2][3][4][5] Died 78 BC (aged 60) Puteoli, Italy, Roman Republic Nationality Roman Notable credit(s) Constitutional reforms of Sulla Office Dictator (82–79 BC)[6] Consul (88, 80 BC) Political party Optimates Opponent(s) Gaius Marius Spouse(s) JuliaAeliaCloeliaCaeciliaValeria Children Lucius Cornelius Sulla Cornelia Faustus Cornelius Sulla Cornelia Fausta Cornelia Postuma Military career Service years 107–82 BC Wars Cimbrian War Social War Sulla's first civil war First Mithridatic War Sulla's second civil war Awards Grass Crown Sulla had the distinction of holding the office of consul twice, as well as reviving the dictatorship. He was a gifted and innovative general and achieved numerous successes in wars against different opponents, both foreign and domestic. Sulla rose to prominence during the war against the Numidian king Jugurtha, whom he captured as a result of Jugurtha's betrayal by the king's allies, although his superior Gaius Marius took credit for ending the war. He then fought successfully against Germanic tribes during the Cimbrian War, and Italic tribes during the Social War. He was awarded the Grass Crown for his command in the latter war. Sulla, the son of Lucius Cornelius Sulla and the grandson of Publius Cornelius Sulla,[9] was born into a branch of the patrician gens Cornelia, but his family had fallen to an impoverished condition at the time of his birth. The reason behind this was because an ancestor, Publius Cornelius Rufinius, was banished from the Senate after having been caught possessing more than 10 pounds of silver plate.[10][11] As a result of this, Sulla's branch of the gens lost public standing and never retained the position of consul or dictator until Sulla came.[8] A story says that when he was a baby, his nurse was carrying him around the streets, until a strange woman walked up to her and said, "Puer tibi et reipublicae tuae felix." This can be translated as, "The boy will be a source of luck to you and your state."[12] Lacking ready money, Sulla spent his youth among Rome’s comedians, actors, lute players, and dancers. During these times on the stage, after initially singing, he started writing plays, Atellan farces, a kind of crude comedy.[13] He retained an attachment to the debauched nature of his youth until the end of his life; Plutarch mentions that during his last marriage – to Valeria – he still kept company with "actresses, musicians, and dancers, drinking with them on couches night and day."[14] Marriages and children- His first wife was Ilia, according to Plutarch. If Plutarch's text is to be amended to "Julia", then she is likely to have been one of the Julias related to Julius Caesar, most likely Julia Caesaris, Caesar's first cousin once removed.[89] They had two children: The first was Cornelia, who first married Quintus Pompeius Rufus the Younger and later Mamercus Aemilius Lepidus Livianus, giving birth to Pompeia (second wife of Julius Caesar) with the former. The second was Lucius Cornelius Sulla, who died young. His second wife was Aelia. His third wife was Cloelia, whom Sulla divorced due to sterility. His fourth wife was Caecilia Metella, with whom he also had two children: They had twins Faustus Cornelius Sulla, who was a quaestor in 54 BC, and Fausta Cornelia, who first married to Gaius Memmius (praetor in 58 BC), then later to Titus Annius Milo (praetor in 54 BC), giving birth to Gaius Memmius with the former, and was also a suffect consul in 34 BC. His fifth and last wife was Valeria, with whom he had only one child, Cornelia Postuma, who was born after Sulla's death.

- LifeSketch: Arngrim was a berserker, who figures in Hervarar saga, Gesta Danorum, Lay of Hyndla, a number of Faroese ballads and Orvar-Odd's saga in Norse mythology. According to versions H and U, Arngrim went pillaging to Gardariki and met its king Svafrlami, who was in possession of Tyrfing at the moment. Tyrfing cut through Arngrim's shield and down into the soil, whereupon Arngrim cut off Svafrlami's hand, grabbed the sword and slew him with his own weapon. Then Arngrim captured Svafrlami's daughter Eyfura and forced her to marry him. Version R, however relates that Arngrim became Sigrlami's war-chief and won many battles and conquered land and subjects for the old king. In recompense, Arngrim was given a high position in the realm, Eyfura and Tyrfing. In all versions of the saga, Arngrim returned to Bolmsö with Eyfura (although versions H and U say that it was the island Bolm in Hålogaland). They had twelve sons who all followed in their father's footsteps and became berserkers. According to the U version, they were called Angantyr, Hjörvard, Hervard, Hrani, Barri, Tyrfing, Tind, two Haddings, Bui, Bild and Toki. According to the H version, their names were Angantyr, Hjorvard, Hervard, Hrani, Brami, Barri, Reifnir, Tind, Saeming and Bui and the two Haddings (in version R only six are mentioned: Angantyr, Hjörvard, Hervard, Hrani and the two Haddings).

- LifeSketch: Vanlandi or Vanlande was a Swedish king at Uppsala of the House of Yngling in Norse mythology. He was the son of Sveigðir whom he succeeded as king. He married a girl from Finnland (territories inhabited by Finno-Ugric peoples), but forgot about her. In revenge, the girl arranged so that Vanlandi was hag ridden to death. He was succeeded by his son Visbur. Vanlande, the son of Svegdir, ascended the throne and ruled over the Uppsala wealth. He was a great salior and traveled widely about the country. He made his winter home in Finland, where he married Driva, the daughter of Snae, the old. Their son was called Visbur. Vanlande left Finland one day in spring, promising his he would be back in three winters. He did not return, so after ten years his wife Driva, called a witch named Huld and asked her to entice him to come back to Finland, or else kill him. He was in Uppsala at the time and there he met death at the hands of a witch.

- Title Of Nobility: Markgraf in Rätien
- LifeSketch: Burchard I (c.?855/50-5 or 23 November 911), a member of the Hunfriding dynasty, was a Duke of Alamannia from 909 until his death. He also held the title of a margrave of Raetia Curiensis, as well as count in the Thurgau and Baar. «b»Life«/b» Burchard's father was the Thurgau count Adalbert II the Illustrious (d. c.?900/06), son of Adalbert I Count of the Rhaetias. Burchard's mother was Judith of Friuli (d. 902). By 900, Burchard was already the most powerful noble in Alamannia. In a 904 deed, he appeared as Vogt administrator of the Swabian possessions of Lorsch Abbey. He succeeded the Welf scion Ruadulf in the borderlands of Raetia, mentioned as marchio (margrave) in 903 and dux (duke) in 909. To further increase his influence, Burchard entered into a conflict with the Swabian count palatine Erchanger and Bishop Solomon III of Constance, who both were loyal supporters to the later East Frankish king Conrad I. In turn, Burchard was captured and charged with high treason. He was found guilty by a tribal council and executed, along with his brother, Count Adalbert III of Thurgau. His son, Burchard II, and his daughter-in-law, Regelinda, left for Italy, either exiled or taking refuge. Their Rhaetian estates were lost, though later recovered. Count Palatine Erchanger proclaimed himself Duke of Swabia in 915. «b»Issue«/b» About 882 Burchard married one Liutgard (possibly the Ottonian princess Liutgard of Saxony, widow of King Louis the Younger) and had the following children: 1.) Burchard II (d. 926), succeeded as Duke of Swabia in 917 2.) Dietpirch of Swabia (also known as Theoberga) married Hupald of Dillingen (d. 909). 3.) - LifeSketch: Burchard II (883-29 April 926) was the Hunfriding Duke of Swabia (from 917) and Count of Raetia. He was the son of Burchard I of Swabia and Liutgard of Saxony. Burchard took part in the early wars over Swabia. His family being from Franconia, he founded the monastery of St Margarethen in Waldkirch to extend his family's influence into the Rhineland. On his father's arrest and execution for high treason in 911, he and his wife, Regelinda, daughter of Count Eberhard I of Zürich, went to Italy: either banished by Count Erchanger or voluntarily exiling themselves to their relatives over the Alps. Around 913, Burchard returned from exile and took control over his father's property. In 915, he joined Erchanger and Arnulf, Duke of Bavaria, in battle against the Magyars. Then Burchard and Erchanger turned on King Conrad I and, at the Battle of Wahlwies in the Hegau, defeated him. Erchanger was proclaimed duke. After Erchanger was killed on 21 January 917, Burchard seized all his lands and was recognised universally as duke. In 919, King Rudolph II of Upper Burgundy seized the county of Zürich and invaded the region of Konstanz, then the centre and practical capital of the Swabian duchy. At Winterthur, however, Rudolph was defeated by Burchard, who thus consolidated the duchy and forced on the king his own territorial claims. In that same year, he recognised the newly elected king of Germany, Henry the Fowler, duke of Saxony. Henry in turn gave Burchard rights of taxation and investiture of bishops and abbots in his duchy. In 922, Burchard married his daughter Bertha to Rudolph and affirmed the peace of three years prior. Burchard then accompanied Rudolph into Italy when he was elected king by opponents of the Emperor Berengar. In 924, the emperor died and Hugh of Arles was elected by his partisans to oppose Rudolph. Burchard attacked Novara, defended by the troops of Lambert, Archbishop of Milan. There he was killed, probably on April 29. His widow, Regelinda (d. 958), remarried to Burchard's successor, Herman I. She had given him five children: 1.) Gisela (c. 905-26 October 923 or 925), abbess of Waldkirch 2.) Hicha (c. 905-950), whose son was Conrad, Duke of Lorraine 3.) Burchard III (c. 915-1 November 973), later duke of Swabia 4.) Bertha (c. 907 -2 January 961), married Rudolph II, King of Burgundy 5.) Adalric (d. 973), monk in Einsiedeln Abbey
