He was king of Romerike and Vestfold. He was said to be generous in gold but would starve his men of food. He was a great warrior who often pillaged and gathered great amounts of loot. His wife was Liv, the daughter of king Dag of Vestmar. Halfdan the Mild died of illness in his bed. He was succeeded by his son, Gudrød the Hunter. According to the historian Halvdan Koht, Halfdan may have been the one to win independence for Vestfold during the turbulent years of 813 - 14. The Frankish annals state that the kings of Hedeby had to solve an uprising in Vestfold at this time. According to Ynglingatal, Halfdan's people "gained victory" in the uprising against King Hemming of the Danes, quite possibly because of the King of the Scyldingas in Hedeby, Southern Jutland were succumbing to Emperor Charlemagne, accepting the Peace of Heiligen and thereby the novel Christendom of the Frankish Romans, which split the Danes, whereupon King Halfdan appears to become the first King of the Scyldingas (the Danish royal clan), seated in Vestfold, north of Skagerak. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halfdan_Hvitbeinn

- Clan Name: House of Yngling
- LifeSketch: Yngvar Harra (or Ingvar) Proto-Norse *Ingu-Hariz (d. early 7th century) was the son of Östen and reclaimed the Swedish throne for the House of Yngling after the Swedes had rebelled against Sölvi. He is reported to have fallen in battle in Estonia and buried there. Although the account of Ingvar is semi-legendary, the discovery of the two Salme ships has confirmed that a similar historic event took place in the 8th century. Snorri Sturluson relates in his Ynglinga saga that King Ingvar, Östen's son, was a great warrior who often spent time patrolling the shores of his kingdom fighting Danes and Estonian vikings (Víkingr frá Esthland). King Ingvar finally came to a peace agreement with the Danes and could take care of the Estonian vikings. He consequently started pillaging in Estonia in retribution, and one summer he arrived at a place called Stein (see also Sveigder). The Estonians (sýslu kind) assembled a great army in the interior and attacked King Ingvar in a great battle. The Estonian forces were too powerful and Ingvar fell and the Swedish forces retreated. Ingvar was buried in a mound at a place called Stone or Hill fort (at Steini) on the shores of Estonia (Aðalsýsla). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingvar https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yngvar_(Ynglinga%C3%A4tten)

Ragnvald EYSTEINSSON
\-Gundella Aseda EYSTEINDATTER
- Father: Øystein Ivarsson GLUMRA
- Mother: Ascrida Aseda RAGNVALDSDOTTIR
- Birth: 830, Nord-Trøndelag, Norway
- Occupation: the founding Jarl (or Earl) of Møre in Norway
- Title Of Nobility: Earl of Orkney, Scotland.
- LifeSketch: WIKIPEDIA Rognvald I, son of Eystein (fl. 865) sometimes referred to with the bynames of "the Wise" or "the Powerful" was the jarl of Møre in Norway and a key figure in the founding of the Earldom of Orkney. Three quite different sources for the creation of the Norse earldom on Orkney and Shetland exist. The best known are those in the Norse Sagas but older evidence is found in the Historia Norvegiae and the Fragmentary Annals of Ireland. This last source refers to a "Ragnall son of Albdan" who was active in Orkney in 865. The Historia includes a brief reference to Rognvald, which events are also referred to in the saga material. The saga sources have much to say about Rognvald, his relationship to the Norwegian king Harald Fairhair, his brother and sons, and the founding of the Orkney and Møre earldoms. However, these are not contemporary, having been written down some three centuries after the events described, and must be treated with considerable care. These complications have led to a variety of interpretations of the saga texts. Various conclusions have been reached as to the historical authenticity of Rognvald's role and the great voyage he is said to have undertaken to the south and west, led by King Harald, is now widely believed to date from a period some decades before Harald's reign. The meanings behind the sagas have also been interpreted in various ways and recurring themes, including strife between brothers, have been identified. Other scholars have emphasised brief contemporary accounts that may relate to the founding of the Orkney earldom, especially Irish sources, at the expense of the saga material. The sources are for Rognvald's life are almost exclusively the Norse sagas, none of which were written down at the time of the events they record about his life. The Orkneyinga saga was first compiled in Iceland in the early 13th century and much of the information it contains is "hard to corroborate".[2] Rognvald is also referred to in the Heimskringla and the Historia Norvegiae. The former was written in Iceland and is of a similar vintage to the Orkneyinga saga; dating the latter has proven to be controversial but a recent analysis has the "majority of scholars in favour of dates between 1170 and 1220"[3] whilst admitting that "it remains to be established when, why, where, for whom and by whom it was written".[4] Rognvald may also be referred to in the Fragmentary Annals of Ireland. These annals survive only as incomplete copies made by Dubhaltach Mac Fhirbhisigh in the 17th century although the originals are believed to date from the lifetime of Donnchad mac Gilla Pátraic who died in 1039. The Orkneyinga saga says that Rognvald was the son of Eystein Ivarsson, himself the son of Ívarr Upplendingajarl.[15] and was married to a daughter of Hrólfr Nose called Ragnhild,[13] although in the Heimskringla she is called Hild.[16] Their son Hrólfr "was so big that no horse could carry him", hence his byname of "Ganger-Hrólf",[13] and he is identified by the saga writers with Rollo of Normandy ancestor of the Dukes of Normandy[16] who signed the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte with King Charles the Simple in 911. In addition to Ivar and Hrólfr, both sagas also refer to Rognvald's son Thorir the Silent, and three more sons "by concubines" called Hallad, Einarr and Hrollaug, all three being "grown men when their brothers born in marriage were still children. Earl Rognvald was killed by King Harald's son Halfdan Hålegg and Gudrod Gleam who engineered a sudden attack, surrounded the house in which he was staying, and burned it to the ground with the earl and sixty of his men inside it. Harald "flew into a rage" when he heard about this and sent out a "great force" against Gudrod who was then banished. Halfdan escaped into the western seas and Rognvald's death was later avenged by Torf-Einarr who killed him on North Ronaldsay and then made his peace with Harald. Harald made Rognvald's son Thorir Earl of Møre and gave his daughter Alof to him in marriage.[22][23][24] The sagas thus identify Rognvald as the apical figure of the Norse Earls of Orkney who controlled the islands until the early 13th century, and a forerunner of important Icelandic families. Furthermore, through his son Hrolfr Rognvald he is an ancestor of the Dukes of Normandy who, following the Norman conquest of England in 1066, became the kings of England. The notion that Rognvald could hand over his Northern Isles estates to his brother has been interpreted in various ways. For example, it may be that he was aware of ongoing Viking raiding in the area and considered the gift from the king as a mixed blessing.[39] This is also one of a number of instances in which the writer of the Orkneyinga saga attempts to reconcile the conflicting themes of independence from Norway (Rognvald gifts the islands to Sigurd) and dependence on royal authority (Harald formalises the process by confirming Sigurd as earl).[40] Beuermann (2011) speculates that Rognvald's transfer of power to his brother may have been an attempt by the saga writers to imply that the Orkney earldom had more independence from Norway than that of Møre[41] and that Rognvald's holdings in Caithness may have allowed for an even greater degree of freedom of action. Such implications are more likely to be rooted in the writer's interest in emphasising Orcadian independence at the time of writing rather than the 9th/10th century events they purport to describe.[42] After Hallad's failure in Orkney there is a dialogue between father and sons that has been interpreted as being about Rognvald's desire to cement his own position as Earl of Møre and an allusion to the early history of Iceland, where the sagas were written. Thorir is a compliant son who Rognvald is happy to keep at home. Hrolluag is portrayed as a man of peace who will go to Iceland. Einarr is aggressive and a threat to his father's position so can be spared for the dangers of Orkney.[43] In the Landnámabók version the equally aggressive Hrolfr is also present, and his destiny is anticipated to be in conveniently far-away Normandy.

- Father: Phabet Fabus SON OF JOHN HYRCANUS by Maccabaeus
- Mother: Maccabaeus HASMONEAN
- Also known as: Joshua or Jesus son of Phiabi or Phabet
- Title Of Nobility: High Priest of Israel
- LifeSketch: Jesus, son of Fabus, also known as Jesus, son of Phabet, Jesus son of Phiabi or Joshua ben Fabus (Hebrew: יהושע בר פיאבי), was a Jewish High priest (c. 30 – 23 BCE) in the 1st century BCE. He succeeded Ananelus and was removed by Herod when he appointed his father-in-law, Simon ben Boethus, to the high-priesthood. In 23 BCE, the current High Priest of Jerusalem is Yehoshua III. Yehoshua is the father of three daughters, the priestesses Jane/JoAnna, Elizabeth, and Hanna. Jane/JoAnna has married Joachim; Elizabeth has married Zechariah; and(H)anna has married Heli, Miriam's father and Joshua's half brother. In order to facilitate Simon’s ascension to the position of High Priest of Jerusalem, Herod accuses Yehoshua III of sedition and has him executed in 23 BCE. Also note that at the time, Cleopatra of Jerusalem is already married to Jacob ben Matthan, and they have three children: Joseph, father of Jesus in the bible, and twins Ptoles and Cleopas. In order to facilitate this marriage to Simon IV Boethus, Herod also accuses Jacob ben Matthan of sedition and has him executed in 23 BCE. Interestingly, in 23 BCE, after their father’s death, Jacob’s children by Cleopatra (Joseph of the bible, Cleopas and Ptoles), as well as Yehoshua III’s youngest daughter (H)anna and her daughter Miriam, are all whisked away into hiding to Jacob’s brother’s estate in Gamala, Galilee, where they are cared for by Jacob’s brother, Hezekiah. Jacob has two brothers: Prince Hezekiah/Ezekias the Zealot, and Prince Judas of Gamala/Galilee. Both are noted in the bible; Hezekiah is named after Ezekiah, the first martyr of the zealots. Judas the Galilean will be known as the zealot who led the uprising in 6 CE against Roman taxes. https://www.sabbathcovenant.com/newdoctrine/ArrangedmarriagesofYahshuaIIIdaughters.htm The future husbands of these 3 Zadokite heiresses (3 daughters of Yahusha III) were carefully chosen according to their bloodline. They were selected from among the lions of Judah (descendants of the Kingly line of David through Solomon) and men of noted priestly lineage of The House of Zadok: · Hanna (the mother of Miriam) was given in marriage to a Davidian and Maccabee prince, Alexander III Helios called Eli. · JoAnna was given in marriage to a Davidian Nasi and Prince of Israel, Joachim. · Elizebeth (the mother of John the Baptist) was given in marriage to a noted priest, Zacharias of the course of Abijah.
- Death: 23 BC, executed by Herod for sedition, Roman Empire

- Also known as: Marcus Antonius Felix
- Also known as: Greek: ὁ Φῆλιξ (Felix)
- Title Of Nobility: Roman procurator of Judea Province 52–60, BET 52 AND 60, Judea, Roman Empire
- LifeSketch: Acts 24:24 From Wikipedia Marcus Antonius Felix (Felix, in Greek: ὁ Φῆλιξ, born between 5/10-?) was the Roman procurator of Judea Province 52–60, in succession to Ventidius Cumanus. Life Felix was the younger brother of the Greek freedman Marcus Antonius Pallas. Pallas served as a secretary of the treasury during the reign of the Emperor Claudius. Felix was a Greek freedman either of Claudius, according to which theory Josephus (Antiq. xx. 7) calls him Claudius Felix, or for Claudius's mother Antonia Minor, a daughter of Triumvir Mark Antony to Octavia Minor and niece of Emperor Augustus. According to Tacitus, Pallas and Felix descended from the Greek Kings of Arcadia. Felix’s cruelty and licentiousness, coupled with his accessibility to bribes (see Book of Acts 24:26), led to a great increase of crime in Judaea. The period of his rule was marked by internal feuds and disturbances, which he put down with severity. After Paul the Apostle was arrested in Jerusalem and rescued from a plot against his life, the local Roman chiliarch Claudius Lysias transferred him to Caesarea, where he stood trial before Felix. On at least one further occasion Felix and his wife Drusilla heard Paul discourse, and later on frequently sent for Paul and talked with him (Acts 24:24-26). When Felix was succeeded as procurator, having already detained Paul for two years, he left him imprisoned as a favor to the Jews (Acts 24:27). On returning to Rome, Felix was accused of using a dispute between the Jews and Syrians of Caesarea as a pretext to slay and plunder the inhabitants, but through the intercession of his brother, the freedman Pallas, who had great influence with the Emperor Nero, he escaped unpunished. Porcius Festus succeeded him as procurator of Judea. Marriages and issues Felix married three times. His first wife was princess Drusilla of Mauretania, a maternal second cousin of Emperor Claudius. Drusilla was an only child to Claudius’ late maternal cousin King Ptolemy of Mauretania and his wife Queen of Mauretania Julia Urania. Claudius arranged for Felix and Drusilla to marry around 53 in Rome. Like Felix, Drusilla was partly of Greek descent. Felix and Drusilla had no children. Felix between 54-56, divorced Drusilla to marry another woman. Felix’s second wife was a Judean princess, also named Drusilla, and the daughter of King of Judea Herod Agrippa I, from his wife and cousin Cypros. Felix and the Judean Drusilla, had a son, Marcus Antonius Agrippa, who died along with this Drusilla and many of the inhabitants of Pompeii and Herculaneum in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius on 24 August 79, and a daughter, Antonia Clementiana. The Judean Drusilla was one of only two major figures reported as dying in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, the other being Pliny the Elder. Antonia Agrippina may have been a daughter from their son's marriage (this name was graffiti in a Royal Tomb in Egypt). Clementiana became a grandmother to a Lucius Anneius Domitius Proculus. Two possible descendants from this marriage are Marcus Antonius Fronto Salvianus (a quaestor) and his son Marcus Antonius Felix Magnus a high priest in 225. After the eruption, Felix married for a third time, but little is known about his third wife. - Birth: ABT 404, Powys, Wales
- Also known as: Banalduveld
- LifeSketch: Early British Kingdoms - ...A few years later, war broke out between Anlach and Banadl, the usurping Irish King of Powys. The fight did not go well for Anlach, and he was forced to send Brychan to Powys as a hostage in order to protect his lands. Brychan was treated well at the Irishman's court, but he fell madly in love with his host's daughter, Banhadlwedd. The match was frowned upon and, overcome with lust, Brychan took the poor girl by force. Before Brychan was sent back to Gathmadrun at the end of the War, the Irish Princess bore him a son named Cynog. Brychan gave his child a golden armilla as a sign of his paternal recognition.

- Fact: While the surviving sources are consistent regarding the parentage of Ethyll, they are contradictory regarding the identity of her husband. The mid-10th century Harleian Manuscript genealogy names the ancestors of Rhodri "Mawr/the Great": "…Rotri map Mermin map Etthil merch Cinnan…" The name of her husband, recorded in the 13th century History of Gruffydd ap Cynan which names "Rodri Mawr son of Mervyn Frych son of Gwryat…," is consistent with this version. [The Gwentian Chronicle provides a different version of events when it records that "[the] daughter [of Cynan Dindaethwy ap Rhodri [King of all Wales] who was his heir married a chieftain of the name of Mervyn the Freckled," a later passage adding that "Mervyn the Freckled and Essyllt his wife began to reign over Gwynedd and Powys" in 818.] It is impossible to judge which version is preferable. Indeed, it is possible that Ethyll was not an historical figure at all but was invented to legitimise the dynastic change in the eyes of successor generations of kings of Gwynedd and their supporters. She married either: GWRIAD a Manx chieftain, son of ---, or: MERFYN ap Gwriad "Frych/the Freckled" King of Gwynedd.
- LifeSketch: Esyllt Essylt Queen of Wales Heiress of Gwenedd ferch Conan Cynan Dindaethwy ap Rhodri ap Idwal of Molwynog and Gwynedd **************************** Our royal, titled, noble and commoner ancestors Eisyllt, Queen of Wales1 Last Edited 4 Apr 2020 F, #9964 Father Cynan, King of Gwynedd d. 816 Mother Matilda of Flint Eisyllt, Queen of Wales married Gwiard, King of Manaw, son of Elydyr, Prince of Deheubarth. Eisyllt, Queen of Wales was born at of Gwynedd, Wales. Family Gwiard, King of Manaw Children Mervin Frych 'the Freckled', King of Gwynedd+ d. 844 Cadrod ap Gwriad+2 b. c 800 ------------------- Ethyllt ferch Cynan, also known as Ethil, was the daughter of King Cynan Dindaethwy ap Rhodri of Gwynedd. Marriage In 768 she was married to Gwriad ap Elidyr, although it is possible this was a later invention to legitimise the claims to Gwynedd of the descendants of Merfyn Frych. After the death of her father in 816, the throne was secured by her uncle Hywel ap Rhodri Molwynog.

- LifeSketch: Biography Angharad verch Maredydd Queen of Powys was born in about 0982 Parents Angharad's father was Maredydd ap Owain, son of Owain ap Hywel and Angharad verch Llewelyn. 994 First Marriage to Llywelyn ap Seisyll In 994 Angharad married Llywelyn ap Seisyll. The marriage of Angharad and Llywelyn is confirmed by the Chronicle of the Princes of Wales which records that "Bleddyn son of Cynvyn and Gruffudd son of Llywelyn were brothers by the same mother Angharad daughter of Meredudd king of the Britons". Llywelyn was aged 14 at the time (so born in 980). The Gwentian Chronicle records that "Llywelyn son of Seisyllt lord of Maes Essyllt although but a youth not more than fourteen years of age" married "Yngharad, daughter of Meredydd on of Owain" in 994 1023 Anghard's Second Marriage to Cynfyn ap Gwerstan As the widow of Llywelyn, Angharad married secondly in 1023 Cynfyn ap Gwerstan, King of Powys, son of Gwerstan. Death She died in Wales in 1077 (83-91) Issue Angharad had children by two marriages. Her second husband Cynfyn likely had children by a previous wife, and these children are sometimes mis-attributed to Angharad. 1.) Gruffydd ap Llewelyn, son of Angharad and her first husband Llewelyn. Gruffydd, king of Gwynedd & Powys was born about 1011 in Rhuddlan, Flintshire, Wales and died 5 August 1063. He was the child of Llywelyn ap Seisyllt and Angharad verch Maredudd. Gruffydd did not succeed his father, possibly because he was too young to do so when his father died in 1023. Gruffydd went on to become the first King of Wales, however he was killed by his own men in 1063. Gruffydd's own sons Maredudd and Idwal died in 1069, fighting at the Battle of Mechain. Gruffydd ap Llywelyn inflicted a series of defeats on the English, and made alliances with the enemies of King Edward the Confessor. Gruffydd fought a long campaign against rival kings to win overall control of Wales. By 1055, he had become master of Deheubarth and had expanded his rule to the lesser kingdoms of Morgannwg (Glamorgan) and Gwent. In 1063, Earl Harold Godwinsson (later Harold II) and his brother Tostig made a joint attack on Gwynedd. At the same time, Deheubarth rebelled against Gruffydd's rule. Gruffydd fled and was murdered by his own men. Gruffydd married Ealdgyth, a daughter of Ælfgar, Earl of Mercia. Ealdgyth married second in circa 1064 to Harold Godwinson, the last Anglo-Saxon King of England. Ealdgyth and Gruffydd had a son: Maredudd ap Gruffydd who was excluded from the throne by his uncles Bleddyn ap Cynfyn and Rhywallon ap Cynfyn. Gruffydd ap Llewelyn, king of the Britons 2.) Rhiwallon ap Cynfyn ap Gwerystan, son of Angharad and Cynfyn, born c. 1024, was elevated to king of Powys after the death of Gruffudd ap Llewelyn Rhiwallon was killed in the Battle of Mechain, about 1068. This is the most concrete date associated with Rhiwallon. Warriors were generally young men, though the princes for whom they fought were often older and also expected to fight. Estimate that Rhiwallon was aged 45 at Mechain, and his birth year would be, say, 1025, or if the first born of his mother's second marriage, 1024. Florence of Worcester records that he was appointed King of Powys by King Edward "the Confessor" after the defeat of Gruffydd. The Chronicle of the Princes of Wales records in 1106 that "Bleddyn and Rhiwallon, sons of Cynvyn, were brothers, from Angharad daughter of king Maredudd". Florence of Worcester records that he was appointed King of Powys by King Edward "the Confessor" after the defeat of Gruffydd. The Chronicle of the Princes of Wales records that "the action of Mechain took place between Bleddyn and Rhiwallon, sons of Cynvyn, Maredudd and Ithel, sons of Gruffudd" in 1068, adding that "Ithel was killed in the battle and Maredudd died of cold in his flight, and Rhiwallon son of Cynvyn was slain". The name of Rhiwallon´s wife is not known. 3.) Bleddyn ap Cynfyn, born c. 1025, who was made king of Gwynedd after Gruffudd's death in 1063, and additionally king of Powys when Rhiwallon was killed in 1069 Bleddyn ap Cynfyn of Deheubarth was born in 1025 and died in 1075. Bleddyn ap Cynfyn born about 1025 Montgomeryshire, Bleddyn ap Cynfyn was the son of Princess Angharad ferch Maredudd (of the Dinefwr dynasty of Deheubarth) and her second husband Cynfyn ap Gwerstan, The Chronicle of the Princes of Wales records in 1106 that "Bleddyn and Rhiwallon, sons of Cynvyn, were brothers, from Angharad daughter of king Maredudd". He succeeded his uterine half-brother in 1063 as King of Gwynedd and Powys. He married secondly m. Haer ferch Gillin, and thirdly a daughter of Brochwel 4.) Gwerfyl, born c. 1026, who married Gwrgan ap Ithel Ddu of Glamorgan, and was mother to Iestyn ap Gwrgan. Without naming her, Boyer, following Bartrum, notes a daughter of Cynfyn who married Gwrgan ab Ithel ab Idwallon ap Morgan Mawr (who was King of Morgannwg).
