- Father: Rhodri AP MERFYN
- Mother: Angharad ferch MEURIG
- Birth: 863, Caer Seiont, Caernarvonshire, Wales
- Fact: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tudwal_Gloff
- LifeSketch: Tudwalls father, Rhodri the Great, by conquest and alleged inheritances, had become ruler of most of northern Wales. However, under Welsh law he was bound to divide his lands among his able-bodied children upon his death during a Mercian invasion around 878. Anarawd, the eldest,[1] retained the principal estate at Aberffraw and the throne of Gwynedd. His brothers Cadell and Merfyn received large estates as well, sometimes said to include the kingdoms of Ceredigion and Powys, respectively. For this, one of the Welsh Triads records the brothers as the "Three Diademed Princes of the Isle of Britain".[2] (Rhodri's fourth son, Tudwal the Lame, was apparently too young for the initial division.) The brothers are recorded as cooperating closely against the rulers of the remaining lesser kingdoms of Wales. Æthelred of Mercia invaded Gwynedd around 881 and the annals hailed his defeat at Cymryd in the Battle of the Conwy as Dial Rhodri: "God's vengeance for Rhodri". Tudwal was old enough to participate in this battle, but his disfigurement on the field left him unfit for rule in Welsh eyes. (found at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarawd_ap_Rhodri#cite_note-1) Tudwall Gloff, or the lame, so called from the effect of a severe wound in the knee, which he received at he battle of Cymryd, a place within two miles of the town Conway. In the third year after the death of Rhodri, the Mercians, encouraged by the former success, again invaded North Wales, but being met at the place last mentioned by Anarawd, the young reigning prince, his brother Tudwal, and their forces, the Angles suffered a signal defeat. Prince Anarawd ordered this decisive victory to be chronicled under the appellation of "Gwaith dial Rhodri, " i.e. Revenge for the death of Rhodri. Tudwal for his general good conduct and bravery in this battle, was rewarded by the diademed princes, his brothers, with an additional grant of lands in Uchelgoed Gwynedd, and the lordship of Ceredigion, or that western tract lying between the rivers Dovey and Teivy. The Chronicle of the Princes of Wales records the death in 808 of "Cadell king of Powys". The Gwentian Chronicle records that "Arthen king of the Ceredigiawn, Rhydderch king of Dyved, and Cadell king of Teyrnllwg now called Powys" died in 804. m ---. The name of Cadell´s wife is not known. Cadell & his wife had two children... ** from British Kings and Queens (Mike Ashley) p 155 Cadell ap Brochfael Powys, ? - 808. Ruler of Powys during the oppressive reign of the Mercian Cenwulf. Cadell died before Cenwulf's main drive into Wales, and he may have benefitted from the comparative peace that followed the construction of Offa's Dyke. However, in the last year of Offa's reign, the Mercian penetrated into Rhuddlan, and this was a signal of the fragile relationship that would exist between Welch and Mercians for the next thirty years. Cadell ap Brochfael (English: Cadell, son of Brochfael; died c. 808), also known as Cadell Powys, was an 8th- and 9th-century king of Powys. He was the son of Brochfael ap Elisedd, whom he succeeded to the throne c. 773. The Annals of Wales mention his death, and Phillimore's reconstruction dates the entry to AD 808. His name also was inscribed (as "Cattell") in the Pillar of Eliseg. Children: 1.) Nest ferch Cadell, b. Abt 770, of Powys gwlad, Wales, d. 842 (Age ~ 72 years) 2.) - Title Of Nobility: King of Gwynedd, BET 586 AND 599, Gwynedd, Wales
- Fact: https://www.geni.com/people/Beli-ab-Einion/6000000056635820050
- LifeSketch: The Life Summary of Beli When King Beli ap Rhun of Gwynedd was born in 0517, in Gwynedd, Wales, United Kingdom, his father, King Rhun Hir "the Tall" ap Maelgwn Brenin Gwynedd, was 17 and his mother, Perweur verch Rhun Ryfeddfawr, was 17. He had at least 1 son with Mrs. Beli ap Rhun of Gwynedd. He died in 0599, in his hometown, at the age of 82. Beli ap Rhun (c. 517-599) was King of Gwynedd (reigned c. 586-599). Nothing is known of the person, and his name is known only from Welsh genealogies, which confirm that he had at least two sons. He succeeded his father Rhun ap Maelgwn as king, and was in turn succeeded by his son Iago. Beli was the either the father or grandfather of Saint Edeyrn. The royal genealogies of the Harleian genealogies, Jesus College MS. 20, and Hengwrt MS. 202 show him as the ancestor and descendant of kings, and thus presumably a king himself. The Bonedd y Saint (English: Descent of the Saints) says that he is the ancestor of Saint Edeyrn (the Bonedd y Saint says that he was the son of Nudd or Lludd who was the son of Beli, while Hengwrt MS. 202 says that he was the son of Beli). One of the medieval Welsh Triads mentions a certain 'Rhun ap Beli', implying that there was yet another son of Beli, who was famed for his military exploits. The name is repeated elsewhere in medieval poetry, such as in Hywel Foel's (fl. c. 1240-1300) awdl lamenting the capture and imprisonment of Owain ap Gruffudd, where he likens Owain to Rhun: "Who if free, like Rhun the son of Beli, Would not let Lloegria burn his borders". There is no confirming evidence that such a person existed, and it is contradicted by records such as the royal genealogies. Scholars such as Thomas Stephens have concluded that this is a mistake, and that the intended person was someone else.

- LifeSketch: Wikipedia Llywelyn ap Seisyll (died 1023) was an 11th-century King of Gwynedd, Powys and Deheubarth. Llywelyn was the son of Seisyll, a man of whom little is known. Llewelyn first appears on record in 1018, that year he defeated and killed Aeddan ap Blegywryd along with four of his sons and obtained Gwynedd and Powys. In 1022, a man named Rhain the Irishman was made king of Deheubarth, he claimed to be a son of Maredudd ab Owain, whose daughter Angharad had married Llywelyn. Llywelyn made war against Rhain, they fought a battle at Abergwili, and after a “slaughter on both sides” Rhain was killed allowing Llywelyn take control of Deheubarth. Llywelyn, after his success against Rhain, died in 1023. The Brut y Tywysogion portrays Llywelyn’s reign as one of prosperity saying “complete in abundance of wealth and inhabitants; so that it was supposed there was neither poor nor destitute in all his territories, nor an empty hamlet, nor any deficiency.” Llywelyn was called "King of the Britons" by the Annals of Ulster. Llywelyn had one son called Gruffydd; he did not succeed his father, possibly because he was too young to do so. Gruffydd went on to become the first and only true King of Wales (the only one to rule over all the territory), however he was killed by his own men in 1063. Gruffydd’s own sons Maredudd and Idwal died in 1069, fighting at the Battle of Mechain. As Llewelyn's grandfather is not known some scholars have said it was a man named Ednowain or Owain others Rhodri. Yet a more likely proposition is that Llewelyn was a nephew to King Cadell ap Brochwel of Powys, son of his younger brother Seisyll and that he did not acquire Powys by conquest but hereditary right and then conquered Gwynedd from Aeddan son of Blegywryd.

- alt.birth: ABT 373
- Title Of Nobility: King of Brittany
- LifeSketch: The Life Summary of Aldrien When Aldrien ap Selyfan was born in 0390, in Brittany, France, his father, Saint Cynfawr 'Synvor' Salomon I, King of Brittany, was 35 and his mother, Queen Flavia Junia verch Patricius Rusticus, was 35. He died in 0464, in his hometown, at the age of 74. Aldrien was Gradlon Mawr's grandson, who reigned after his little-known father, 'King' Salomon I. He appears, on occasion, to have been called Daniel. As the heir of Eudaf Hen's nephew, it was to the young Aldrien that Gwithilin, the Archbishop of London, travelled with a deputation to offer him the British High-Throne. There had been no monarch in Britain since the Emperor Gracian's death, and in 410 the Roman army and administration had decided to completely withdrawal back to Rome. Aldrien was aware of the chaotic state of the country, and of the damage incurred from invading Picts, Saxons and Irish. He was, therefore, unwilling to take on the kingdom but sent his brother, Constantine, in his place, with two thousand armed men to secure the throne. Aldrien died some fifty years later, in 464, having married the sister of St. Garmon, Bishop of Man and produced, by her, at least four sons: Budic I, Erich, Judicael and Bican. He was succeeded by the former.

- Also known as: Cynfelyn, Kymbelinus, Cymbeline
- Also known as: Cunobelinus ap Tecfan
- Title Of Nobility: King of the Catuvellauni
- LifeSketch: Cunobeline, known in Latin as Cunobelinus, was a Celtic king Britain in the period immediately before the Roman conquest. He controlled a substantial part of south-eastern Britain and ruled from the late first century BC until around 42 AD and is the most famous British leader prior to the Roman occupation. His name possibly means "hound of Belenus" from the Brythonic Celtic element koun "hound" combined with the name of the god Belenus. Mentioned by the Roman historians Dio Cassius and Suetonius, who, in his life of the emperor Caligula, refers to Cunobelinus as 'Britannorum rex' (King of the Britons). Many of the coins minted during his reign have been discovered. Cunobeline's father Tasciovanus or Teuhant is assumed to have been the son or grandson of Cassivelaunus, who fought Julius Caesar during his second invasion of Britain. Shortly before or soon after succeeding his father, Cunobelinus conquered the territory of the powerful Trinovantes tribe, who occupied what is today known as Essex. Cunobelinus seems to have rose to power in around 9 AD and minted coins from both Camulodunum (Colchester) which was the capital of the Trinovantes and Verlamion (modern St Albans), capital of the Catuvellauni tribe, who inhabited the area to the north of the River Thames, the modern counties of Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire east of the River Charwell. The earliest issues of his coins are from Camulodunum, which indicates that he first took power there. He is named on the coins as the son of Tasciovanus, a previous chief of the Catuvellauni, the most powerful tribe in southern Britain. His kingdom, with its coinage and wheel pottery, had good trade links, friendly relations with the Roman empire under Tiberius and with its suggestion of the beginnings of literacy, was highly developed

- Also known as: Paternus
- Also known as: The Red Robe
- LifeSketch: Padarn Beisrudd ap Tegid literally translates as Paternus of the Scarlet Robe, son of Tegid. His father, Tegid ap Iago, may have borne the Roman name of Tacitus. Padarn is believed to have been born around AD 400 in the Old North (or Hen Gogledd) of Roman Britain. According to Old Welsh tradition, his grandson, Cunedda certainly came from Manaw Gododdin, the modern Clackmannanshire region of Scotland. One traditional interpretation identifies Padarn as a Roman (or Romano-British) official of reasonably high rank who had been placed in command of Votadini troops stationed in Clackmannanshire in the 380s or earlier by the Emperor Magnus Maximus. Alternatively, he may have been a frontier chieftain in the same region who was granted Roman military rank, a practice attested elsewhere along the empire's borders at the time. His command in part of what is now Scotland probably lasted till his death and was then assumed by his son Edern. Edern was the father of Cunedda, founder of the Kingdom of Gwynedd. The coat of Padarn Redcoat is one of the Thirteen Treasures of the Island of Britain, where it is said to fit perfectly any brave man, but will not fit cowards. The Life of Saint Padarn contains a story about how King Arthur tried to steal his tunic, which suggests a link or borrowing of a legend connected with Padarn Redcoat. «b»In literature and film«/b» In M J Trow's fictional Britannia series, Padarn Beisrudd is one of the central characters. He is given the latinised name of Paternus and portrayed as a limitanei soldier guarding Hadrian's Wall.

- Father: Tudur Trefor ab YNYR
- Mother: Angharad ferch HYWEL DDA of South Wales
- Birth: ABT 934, Clywd, Denbighshire, Wales
- Christening: Whittington, Shropshire, England
- Also known as: Lluddica ap Tudur "Trefor"
- LifeSketch: By Angharad, his wife Tudor Trevor left 3 sons, Goronwy, Lluddocca, and Dingad, among whom he divided his lands, every son being held equal, thou some slight favor being shewn to the youngest who had a right to the paternal home, the law providing for him, who by reason of his tender years might be least able to provide for himself. In the division of lands the southern portions fell to the lot of the representative of Goronwy, for he predeceased his father, leaving only a daughter and heir, Rheingar, who carried her possessions by marriage of Cuhelyn ab Ivor ab Severnus, and from them came Elystan Glodrydd, Prince of Fferlis, the country between the Wye and Severn. The third son, Dingad, received the Lordship of Maelor Cymraeg. While Oswestry, Chirk, Whittington and Maelor Saesneg fell to the lot of Lloddocca, who must have been a man of high position and importance in his day. He married Angharad, daughter of Iago ab Idwal ab Meurig, Prince of North Wales, and thus became brother-in-law of Cynan ab Iago, King of North Wales. Gwerfyl, his daughter by this match, became the wife of Ednowain Bendew, Prince of Tegaingle, Chief of the Noble Tribes of Gwynedd (pedigree of Col. Jones,&c. [KHV6-WXN]) and his son Llywarch Gam ab Lluddocca succeeded him in his estates in North Shropshire, and married Lleuki, d/o Gwerystan ab Gwaethvoed of Pwys. By these matches Llywarch Gam was connected with the Royal Houses of North and South Wales, and Powys, since it must be borne in mind that Cynfyn ab Gwerystan ab Gwaethvoed married Angharad, the heiress of Meredydd (called King of all Wales) son of Owain ab Howel Dda, and was by her the progenitor of the future Princes of Powys. Here comes before us the vexed question were there one or two Gwaethvoeds, which is best answered in the words of the eminent atiquary, Robert Vaughan of Hengwrt, "That there were two Gwaethvoeds our books of pedigrees assure us...and further they appear to be distinct by their distinct coates of armes and distinct pedigrees." This Gwaethvoed of Powys was the descendant of Tegonwy ab Teon, and he is perhaps best known as grandfather of Cynfyn ab Gwerystan, who as previously related, by his marriage with Angharad, heiress of Meredydd ab Owain, and widow of Llewelyn ab Seissyllt, placed his descendants upon the throne of Powys. The other Gwaethvoed, descended thru Gwyddno Garanhir from Maxen Wledig, was connected with South Wales, being lord of Cybwyr and Gwent, and Prince of Ceredigion, through his mother, the heiress of Cynneddian Prices of Ceredigion. He was gradfather of Ednowain Bendew thru his son Cynan Veiniad, Lord of Tevana. But to proceed, Llywarch Gam was succeeded by his son Ednyvet, who married Sionet, daughter and coheir of Prince Rhiwallon ab Cynfyn, of Powys, her sister, Gwladys, being wife of Prince Rhys ab Tewdwr Mawr of South Wales. - Father: Tybion AP CUNEDDA
- Birth: ABT 423, Meirionydd, Merionethshire, Wales
- Also known as: Marcianus, Mark, Merion
- LifeSketch: History Files.co.uk Meirionnydd Meirionnydd was one of the more powerful of the Gwyneddian offshoots. It was founded by Meirchion, a grandson of Cunedda (who must have been the grandson included in the original migration from the north). His father, Typaun, was Cunedda's eldest son who apparently died before the migration from Manau Guotodin. This branch of the family included in its descendants one Cadwaladr, who should not be confused with Gwynedd's later king, virtually the last of the great British leaders who, in the seventh century, so nearly expelled the Northumbrians.

- Father: Ynyr Honorius ap DYNWAL
- Mother: Madrun FERCH VORTIMER
- Birth: ABT 470, Caerwent, Monmouthshire, Wales
- Also known as: Caradoc Freichfrau "Short Arm"
- Title Of Nobility: King of Gliwissig and Gwent
- LifeSketch: Caradoc Vreichvras (472-530) was King of Gliwissig and Gwent from 500 to 530, succeeding Ynyr (Gliwissig) and Iddon ap Ynyr (Gwent) and preceding Meurig ap Caradog. He was also one of King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table. Caradoc was born in 472 AD, the son of King Ynyr of Gliwissig and Saint Materiana, and the brother of Iddon ap Ynyr. He acquired the nickname Vreichvras, meaning "strongarm", and he became one of King Arthur's loyal Knights of the Round Table before inheriting his father's throne in 500. Caradoc ruled over Gliwissig and Gwent from Caerwent, and he died in 530. ____________________________________________________ Early British Kingdoms.com/bios/caradfgt.html Caradog Freichfras, King of Gwent & the Vannetais (Born c.AD 470) Caradog Strong-Arm was an early ancestor of the Kings of Gwent and, as such, should be identified with Caradog ap Ynyr, mentioned in the Life of St. Tathyw. Welsh legend calls his father {Honorius Ynyr} "Llyr Marini" (of the Sea), while Breton legend indicates a Caradog the Elder. The former may have been a title in honour of the Celtic Sea-God, Llyr. His disputed parentage is, in fact, the basis of an Arthurian literary tale. Caradog's mother was said to have been an unfaithful wife, for the King was her offspring by a lowly druid named Eliafres. While holding court at Caer-Ceri (Cirencester), Caradog confronted this man concerning the matter. Eliafres refused to answer his questions and caused a serpent to entwine itself around the young man's arm. It took the combined strength of both his wife, Tegau, and his friend, Cado, to remove the creature. The serpent, however, grasped Tegau's breast instead and she was forced to cut it off. Caradog's arm had shrivelled away and the, once strong, King thus became known as "Briefbras" or Short-Arm! Queen Tegau took to wearing an artificial gold breast, hence her epithet of "Eurfron" or Golden Breast. Welsh tradition tells of Tegau's story without mentioning Caradog's parental confusion. However, the Breton Arthurian tales name his wife as Cado's sister, Guignier. Probably she was King Caradog's second wife. It is not surprising that Caradog became paranoid about female fidelity and he used both a magic horn and cloak to test that of this lady. Queen Guignier passed with flying colours. According to the Breton stories, Caradog's main court was at Nantes, but this may be a confused form of Caerwent which was sometimes known as Carnant (Caer-Nantes) in literary sources. He certainly lived at Caerwent originally - possibly in the great basilica of the old Roman town - but he later gave the place to St. Tathyw in which to found a monastery. The King himself let his horse lead him to a new home: Portskewett, possibly to the hillfort & Roman outpost of Sudbrook Fort. Legend also has him holding court in the hillfort of Caer-Caradog (Cary Craddock) at Sellack (in Ergyng). Caradog, furthermore, may have been one of the British Kings who held lands on both sides of the Channel. In Brittany he is thought to have conquered the Vannetais where he became a patron of St. Padarn. The Welsh Triads, not surprisingly, portray Caradog deputising for the High-King Arthur at court in Caer-Legeion-guar-Uisc (Caerleon). He should not, however, be confused with other Arthurian Literary characters of similar name, such as Sir Carados, the King of Scotland or the evil Sir Caradoc of the Dolorous Tower. Some historians have tried to identify Caradog with the West Saxon Leader, Cerdic, but this seems unlikely. ____________________________________________________

- Father: Ynyr Honorius ap DYNWAL
- Mother: Madrun FERCH VORTIMER
- Birth: 466, Gwent, Wales, United Kingdom
- LifeSketch: Prince Ceidio of Gwent became embroiled in political intrigue while still a baby, for he escaped with his mother, Queen (& Saint) Madrun of Gwent, from the flames of High-King Vortigern's last stand at Tre'r Ceiri. He settled at Llangeidio just north of his mother's hillfort on Carn Fadrun, and founded a church there. Like many Celtic saints, upon taking up the religious life, he may have become associated with a sanctuary-seeking deer, for his horse was called one of the three "cloven-hoofed horses" of Britain. He founded other churches in Wales at Ceidio (Llandyrnog) and Rhaeadr (Gwerthrinion), but later took his mother to Cerniw to evangelize the people of Minster. He is sometimes, mistakenly, recorded as Cynheiddon and should not be confused with St. Ceidio ap Caw.
